"What's wrong with people ?" I'd rather be entertained tonight. I don't vote nor do I care to.

I can catch what he had to say in the newspaper tomorrow. Thanks.

Right. You just want the easy way out, and whatever happens happens. Your vote obviously wouldn't make a difference, and the fact that thousands died to give you that right doesn't matter. You don't want to vote. Voting is a stupid right.
Don't put words in my mouth. I simply don't care. Stupid has nothing to do with it.

Apathy is just as bad.

It's worse actually.
Explain. Seriously.

I've already stated why I don't care... because they're all damned liars who do it to further their agenda. What ? I'm just supposed to vote for the best liar and pretend I did something good for this country ? No thanks. I'll leave it up to the rest of you. And I don't mean to sound like I hate this world. I simply let it run as is without my intervention.
Nothing will EVER change if you don't do your part to help this country. Vote for a third party if you'd like. But don't just sit on your ass doing nothing, and then complain when laws like the PATRIOT Act get passed.

It's up to Americans to change their country if we don't like it. It's in our Declaration of Independence, and if you don't like that, then you obviously don't support democratic ideals. If you truly believed in the power of democracy, you'd vote.

I'm sorry, but I find your attitude unacceptable. Political efficacy is of paramount importance to the American democracy, and if there were more Americans like you, we'd be in even more of a sorry state.

EDIT: If I meet someone who complains about some policy or some law passed that they don't like, the first thing I ask them is, "Did you vote in 2000?" If you're given a chance to participate in democracy and don't, you don't deserve a chance to complain about problems with an institution that you don't support.

Well, if we're talking apathy vs. stupidity what would annoy you more; If you worked with someone who didn't do a good job because they just didn't posses the intelligence or someone who was capable of doing good work but just didn't care to?

Apathy is more disgusting to me because it's a waste. In this case you're wasting your ability to do something that thousands of men felt was important enough to die for. For no other reason than the fact that you've convinced yourself that it's not important to do so. Even if you dislike all political candidates (which I can't really fault you for) then do what I'll be doing this election year. Vote for the lesser of two weasels.

LOL, Im at work so I cant watch, will try and dig up a tape afterwards, but OH MY LORD, EVEN THE PREPARED COPY HAS TYPOS!

Inside the United States, where the war began, we must continue to give homeland security and law enforcement personnel every tool they need to defend us. And one of those essential tools is the PATRIOT Act, which allows Federal law enforcement to better share information, to track terrorists, to disrupt their cells, and to seize their assets. For years, we have used similar provisions to catch embezzlers and drug traffickers. If these methods are good for hunting criminals, they are even more important for hunting terrorists. Key provisions of the PATRIOT Act are set to expire next year. The terrorist thret will not expire on that schedule. Our law enforcement needs this vital legislation to protect our citizens -- you need to renew the PATRIOT Act.

Did he type it himself?

Um, w/o the greatest system of government in the world in place, your precious teenie bopper show wouldn't exist. YOu'd be watching "Allah and you...removing your woman's clitoris to make her behave...." :disgust:

I'm tuned in.

Damn that just cracked me up. Now that was pretty funny, I am still recovering from that.

Wow...

All I can say is, November can't get here fast enough.

For those interested, Kucinich is holding a webcast town-hall meeting with thoughts & community reactions.

What the hell did he say that was so bad, in your eyes?

His recommendation to renew the Patriot Act, his unabashed bigotry against gays/lesbians, his rhetoric that the "war on terror" is good & righteous and that the US has some God-given right to do whatever the hell it wants.

I did agree with some points - I was glad Libya disarmed its programs. I'm glad Saddam was ousted. I like the concept of the No Child Left Behind Act (though I don't know enough about it to say whether I agree with its implementation). I don't fully blame the economic troubles on Bush - the dot "bomb" was not his fault, although I suspect he could have done more to improve the situation.

I don't agree with the way Saddam was ousted - I haltingly agree that sometimes violence is necessary, but I completely disagree with our unilateral action flaunting the US power in front of the UN under the guise of "war on terror" and questionable, if not completely falsified, evidence. I don't like Bush's call for a constitutional amendment saying "marriage = man & woman". I respect Bush for his belief in God and a higher power, but I disagree with his attempts to encourage morality legislation.

I liked Kucinich's post-SOTU comment, which was to the effect of "This speech did more to divide the country, not unite it."

:) Roger that! That's why I voted for Bush and will vote for him again this year. He's not afraid to do the right thing for America, no matter that he may unpopular for doing it.

Sure, he's got his own agenda; what Politico doesn't? But check out that comment about "Steroids in Pro Sports!" Rock, on, George!

Do you see her eyebrows? they have been lifted so often and so tightly that she has a permanent :Q look on her face. And when she speaks, only her lips move. The rest of her plastic face is frozen in place. Good Lord, she can hardly blink! And did you hear her dentures clatter while she was going on about the USA being in the war all alone?

Hahahaha!!

I will give you the patriot act. As far as us acting the way we did in iraq... how do you suppose we were to get rid of him without going right in and getting him? by folding to the UN? Come on, we are a soverign nation. We have a constitution. We do not serve under any other flag. Our military serves under no flag but out own. If we give into the UN, we can kiss our constitution goodbye. We would have to accept way too many things that are not worth it. Like the ICC for a start. We owe the UN nothing. The UN will bring us to world governing and that is not condusive to our rights and freedoms under the constitution.

Let's ask the Iraqi ppl if they think the war on terror is good and righteous. ;)

By doing the right thing you mean raping the hell out of our civil liberties and making a mockery of the position of President of the United States by trying to convince an angry post-9/11 constituent body that another country had weapons of mass destruction.... that to this day still haven't been found. Add on top of that his repeated anti-homosexual propaganda, his choice to support a piece of legislation dubbed "SON OF PATRIOT ACT" which in essence just hurts the American people more than it helps and further drives a wedge between the American people and their civil liberties. I'M GLAD HE'S GOT A PAIR ON HIM! LETS ROLL! THESE COLORS DON'T RUN! THE FREEDOM TOWER! FREEDOM FRIES! INSERT PSEDUO-PATRIOTIC BANDWAGON COMMENT HERE.

If you don't vote you are not patriotic, and honestly, because you don't vote you opinions and want will fall on deaf ears.

Voting is the basic inactment of your opinions, wants, and needs from the government.

If you don't vote, then shut the hell up.
