"So what can you do in 2.0 right now? From the information we’ve heard, there are 8 combat missions, 8 research missions, 1 exploration mission, 1 PVP mission, 20 random encounters, and more. You can load into a Constellation, Retaliator, or Cutlass as the initial multicrew ships, you can crew them, walk around inside them while they’re flying, and… You can fly. Basically, it looks really really good, and I can’t wait to actually be able to get in and fly around."
I have not seen any mention of player density. How populated are the servers and are there instances where only a fraction of the server population is present? Any significant player piracy or ambushes?

YouTube videos don't really cover any of this and the 5-min crash makes it hard to get a long session.

Funny story (at least I think so).....so I was able to get into Port Olisar and instead of calling up my ship, I went to the big launchpads (9 & 10) hoping to hitch a ride on a Connie.

I found one and got on the front loading elevator. As it started to go up, the Connie took off. I stayed on the loading elevator for a few seconds but then got sucked out the back......and found myself EVAing over Port Olisar.....

Guess they have some work to do on locking the doors before take off.

Last two days of sale...all previous ships available.

I don't need a Carrack. I'll get it in-game. NO reason to get one now...heck it hasn't even been modeled yet. I would be an idiot to buy a Carrack.

Somehow I saw the "I bought a Carrack" line coming right after reading "I'll get it in-game"

The latest patch is pretty good. They're making progress. I was finally able to get to a space station (don't know which one....the latest patch has removed all location names for me when I pull up my scanner for quantum drive).

I still have a ton of freezes but they're getting fewer in frequency and duration.

Anyway, I was able to land on this station and go inside. As I went inside, I passed someone. That someone promptly stole my Aurora and took off with it.

So I explored the station. It was creepy. Dark and abandoned. Found a Behring ballistic rifle. Found some med-pens. But no one to fight. I was all by myself. On this huge station. So I just started shooting stuff. Still a lot of work to do on environmental destruction.

The Aurora thief returned my ship and somehow crash-landed it on a pad. Then abandoned it. I went out and while I was able to get back in my Aurora, I was never able to get to the cockpit. Thus I couldn't leave......

This game is going to be a helluva lot of fun.

Would one of our regular naysayers please respond and tell me again how I wasted my $45 and how foolish I am?

I had the Carrack + Merchantman CCUs + 2 P72s in my cart, almost hit pay.

Then I decided I'd be better off getting an actual monitor since my 27" Yamakasi ate dust and I'm currently making do with my 126" screen downstairs :'( #FWP

Want the X34, don't like the 1.3k price tag. That's like an Idris right? Is it bad I'm using SC ships as a currency? Also, I want my invite!

Worst case I'll forward you my log in. I trust my fellow Baller.

No worries though, I still need to find a way to set up the HOTAS down here. I've got those tray tables for the theater seats, but they're on pivots so don't know if that's really viable. I kinda wanna try down here though just for the sound, which reminds me, I need to find out if they're going to implement ATMOS sound for this!

I got my invite today to test out the ptu 2.0. Started dl'ing it around 5:30 when I got home from work. So far it's going good and I should be playing by Sunday evening. I'll be honest I am pretty stoked to try the new ptu out.

Crusader PTU invite here as of today. I am out of town on vacation for the week though, so I won't be checking it out for a while.

You won't see them to be honest. I think a couple of them are DS and/or ED mouthpieces. A couple others just want to troll, and a few more are just cautious for having been burned on other kickstarter games. In all but the last case, you won't see them on news of major progress being released to the public (well even in the last case, unless it is news of the game's actual release). The others just want it to fail and will try any way possible in an attempt to see it fail for their own reasons.

What is known is that the engine has been seeing lots of improvements, enough to be shown to a much larger public. The building blocks needed for small, single crew ships are all pretty much done and finalized, and we are now seeing the start of the multi-crew ships being brought online. To be honest with you, many of the biggest hurdles that I anticipated are being overcome with the 2.0 release (localized physics for object groups (i.e. ships/stations and all the objects contained with-in/on them), large maps (64bit precision for map coordinates), PU gameplay (beginnings of mission system/framework and travel within a system). There are still some hurdles left to figure out (large scale fleet/player combat scaling is probably the last major hurdle). Everything else is just level/content creation, as well as balance and performance tuning.

Probably no PTU for me. Now that they've switched to going by citizen number, I'm over 900k so it'll be a while.

I bought a Carrack.

I kept trying to talk my buddy at work into one. He really wanted it, but didn't want to pay that much for it even with CCU'ing his Connie. I set myself a budget of the credits in my account from melting my second Sabre plus the $50 for CCUing off my extra Titan.

The Titan become a Reliant with LTI. I liked the Khartu-al, and I might see about getting one in game, but the Reliant was such a better deal and is very neat already. Plus it'll be hangar ready a lot sooner, I'm guessing. I was always a sucker for the B-Wing, and the Reliant scratches that itch. With the credits, I kitted out my Tali. Both cargo modules, both living modules, and the drop module.

I also (after I said I wouldn't buy anything else) bought another Reliant to chip into the SC gift exchange on Reddit. Not sure what I'll end up with here, so could be fun.

Down the road here soon I might be buying a Mustang Beta game package (maybe with credits from the gift exchange if I don't like what I get) so I have an extra character slot at launch. I didn't really like the Mustang Gamma, but I'm kinda digging the Beta for solo exploration/touring with its RV module in the back. It's one of the cheaper packages, and I don't want an Aurora.

If it makes you feel better the PTU isn't exactly stable yet. Does leave me wanting way more.

Also came across this in space. Creepy!

Those living modules look awesome.

They do, but I was kinda unsure about them at first. Especially the front one. What swayed me was that I figured I needed something cool to have installed in the aft location when using the drop module, then I figured I might as well get the set.

Makes the Tali seem much more homey.

I still don't have the PTU option. Elevator doesn't show it. I followed the link maybe its delayed. SLU I'll help you out once I'm in. Can't say no to a Baller & fellow Massachusetts guy.

Indeed it does. CIG has indicated there will be real reasons to have nice living quarters besides just immersion as well - something like NPC crew morale and performance during extended trips.

I wish the Mustang had a better hardpoint setup, because I would swap my 315p to it for a small explorer just because of that awesome interior. I'm hoping with the 3xx pass they do something about that. Even better if you could get one for the Avenger - maybe remove a bunch of those bounty cells for it.
