The problem with the 325 is that it was never outfitted correctly to begin with as an Interceptor.
The 350R can mount all the same equipment, and is WAY faster (Interceptor), and the 315p has a better engine and handling (and consequently, gets used in BR by most people instead of the 325).
The whole 300 series is due for a balance pass, and I hope they make some changes to reflect that. The 325, if it is going to be used as an Interceptor, should be twin-engine like the 350R, but not as fast, since it should have the heaviest armor of the 300 series. I think 250 m/s would be a good TS. The armor combined with the speed would make it the obvious choice in the 3xx series for combat, instead of the last choice, as it stands at the moment.
FWIW...when they fix the thruster bug on the Hornet series, it's going to be a hard ship to trump. The Hornets may be slow, but they point with a joystick like you're aiming a mouse. I played VS today with the Ghost and it felt like an Easy Button. 3X Mantis shreds everything in its path as long as you're within 500m. Not very fun to fly, but very effective.
The Hornet accelerates like mad. Almost instant 200 m/s. The only advantage it doesn't have at the moment is TS and it slides like a pickup truck on ice (which isn't that big of a deal once you get used to boosting it). I see a lot of "Buff the Hornet" threads on the RSI forums. Honestly, you would have to be a pretty crappy pilot not to dominate with this thing once the thruster bug is fixed. I definitely don't see the need to buff anything about it, it just needs fixed.
