Software forum = more developers posting = more ad revenue for Anandtech... so what's the hold up? :p

What? Ahahahaha. There isn't nearly enough demand for that. Especially if people would actually try and use the search or browse functions and look through General Hardware for their inevitably repost question thread "should I buy a raptor" or "what kind of RAID should I use" (I mean come on that one's just a plain old wikipedia search) and my personal favourite "My RAID-0 failed how do I get my data back?".

Maybe they will do this if everyone promises not to use adblock?

Sure... I'll "stop" using adblock... ;)

Actually, storage is vitally important to everyone, and I believe has as much relevance as any other type of hardware.

In fact, I think I'd rather see people asking if they should Raptorize or go RAID than get caught up in the hardware brand superiority flame wars that are so prevalent now.

Honestly, you can pretty much google or wikipedia anything we talk about in here.

I see you updating categories.. don't forget the split!!

New Forum Categories - 06/02/2007 11:22 PM
In addition to the upgraded forum software, we are working on rolling out quite a number of new forums this weekend. Hopefully this will encourage focused, on topic discussions in areas currently lost to the noise.

We will also be breaking up software (among others) in to multiple forums. This will mean moving current threads to the right forum as they are active. We understand that this may cause some difficulty, but the end result should really benefit everyone. We ask that you please be patient with the admins, mods, and other posters as we try to sort everything out.

The biggest help you as members can offer us is to try to make sure new topics are started in the right place. In addition, before going off to complain to the mods about your favorite thread being deleted, please take a second to look for it in a place that would make sense.

Thanks very much for your patience and support!

woot!
