The OP updated it, Anand says yes, just not when.

that was more than 1.5 years ago

wow time flies

What's funny is it only takes a few clicks of the mouse to create another category in the admin section.

it may be that easy, but there's db considerations and setup that probably has to be done and other bugs that probably take higher precedence, like search. What I don't understand is why they can't rename an existing category like "peripherals" into "programming"? It has only like 400 more posts than Forum Issues. No one's gonna miss the Peripherals category. Just delete those old posts, and start over from scratch. ;)

Yes, the search works flawlessly.

It is funny this thread has not been locked yet, but I guess that would be an answer, and they don't want to deal with all of that?

Great idea! We should really spilt gaming into it's own forum, too. Microsoft Office document formatting issues and cheat codes for FEAR just don't belong in the same forum.

Yup, because the focus is completely different. A separate programming forum would have me spending a lot more time there :)

Forget it guys - how many years has it been for something that would take an hour or so tops? It's not gonna happen. Find a good programming forum somewhere else. I'd reccomend Ars Technica

Ditto, this is futile. Obviously they'll do it when THEY want to, not when we bitch enough because we've done more than enough of that.

But its such a shame that threads about something productive and useful like learning a programming language are flooded with threads about pointless opinions on games... They have their place, but just not with programming..

Hmm.. yes, and us gamers want to see more GAME related threads, rather than theres xxx problems with this piece of software and how do i code in c++ yada yada. Its usually pretty devoid of any gaming discussion. I really need to find a decent starcraft forum or somthing :(

What if we started a money pool to the admins if they do split programming and gaming......

Not that I'd contribute, but it's a suggestion inspired by the OT sticky. :)

Programming doesn't fit nicely into the theme they have going.
