Who says God won't save them? You are still stuck on what the religions claim are the requirements of the righteous but I will say again what Jesus put simply. Just love one another.

Actually, he said that nobody comes to the father, but by him. He pleads with the father on your behalf and if you aren't saved, even if you're a "good person" then christ won't intercede for you and your name won't be written in the lamb's book.

Or, you know, you can continue picking and choosing what to believe. Pretty typical Christian, really.

Doing good does not inhibit free will and neither does it require doing bad either. Both good and bad on earth are the result of human free will. Miracles don't limit choice.

Even before birth, the bible says man's carnal nature has brought him to sin. Seems like we don't have control. According to the bible, man really doesn't have free will because 1) we are destined to sin whether we want to or not, forcing us into this life of servitude and groveling repentance and 2) god, who is all powerful, created us intending that we would sin so we don't really have a choice.

Why would a god of love keep loyal followers in pain or allow them to be harmed when he's all-powerful? Only a malevolent god would bother creating such a terrible, miserable failure of a world and claim it was for his own glory. How self centered.

Such simple concepts escape the loony religiotards because things like "logic" and "reason" don't fit into the christian agenda.

I disagree. The tenets of Scientology are probably (maybe) the craziest, but those who choose to become Scientologists are probably making a valid economical decision. Hollywood is filled with em so joining the brotherhood is a good way to get ahead, or at least provide the possibility of special notice. They don't even preach xenu until you're a level 4 zaxxon or something so most of it has nothing to do with that. Compared to the ritualiazed lifestyle of most other religions Scientology doesn't seem that intrusive. Unless you're gay. Or want to quit the church. Or have friends or family that don't want you in the church. Or you want to criticize a position of the church. Or want to read about criticisms of the church.

Ok, maybe you were right.

:D

also, don't forget that those benefits (networking your way through Hollywood) come at a steep price.

Altogether, it appears that Haggis, after 35 years and an OT VII, spent some $400k to achieve that rank.

Does not invalidate what I said. Knowing who and what Jesus is puts that in context.

A man that, without any proof, lived and died a non-divine life, influenced many, lied to many that he was divine, then died and didn't come back to life?

Sure, that's exactly what he was, because beyond that there is absolutely no shred of evidence to support any other theory.

To the extent you disagree with Jesus and every other denomination that thinks salvation comes only through faith (except Unitarians...any others?) you should probably form your own religion b/c the one you got aint the one you think it is.

I do not disagree with Jesus at all. It says repeatedly that you are saved by grace alone. What Jesus said there doesn't disagree with that.

Christians only pick and choose what parts they want to follow and believe in just like they pick and choose what the bible says. They never really follow what their "savior" says which is evident by the answers here.
