Sigh.. Once again we did ban the IP range and he started spamming emails. Also instead of repeating yourself or others again read my previous posts and tell me how that is lowering myself (past his level now), because as of now no actual reasons have been given just the statement. As a matter of fact I was at a family dinner yesterday and mentioned what happened to resounding support. An uncle, who happens to be a lawyer, said that it is that teaching punks a lesson like that is the only way they will learn.Originally posted by: Anubis
how about just banning the IP range? that woudl have been fine
however you lowered yourself down past his level when you called his mother
AaronB we have no legal department, that was just a joke on Whut?s end and the comment was meant to be taken as nothing more. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
rainepar He was in the 13-16 age range we know that for sure from looking up the information on his Judo tournament. He lied and said he was 11 at first, we banned him saying ?sorry but you need to be at least 13 to post on these boards? which is part rules stated upon registering. Then he just came back and said oh wait now I?m 13 and started going to town. IP ban did not help nor did IP range help because then he started spamming emails. A simple phone call to his parents made sure he stopped immediately and we have not heard from him since.
bubbadu Oh I?m sorry, so if you had a website of your own and some punk kid started going nuts on your servers, forums, and email, breaking rules one by one, and laughing in the face of authority you would just ?leave the kid alone??
knyghtbyte Thanks for the comment but we have similar rules ourselves and this kid was banned for breaking one of them. He then went ape because he couldn?t handle being banned. This is the first time we have had to deal with a person like this, does not mean that our rules are broken or we did something wrong, it was just a bad kid. Thanks again.
People seem to be stuck on some wild idea that we are the bad guys for dealing with a trouble maker, because we some how ganged up on a little kid and got him in trouble with mommy. What you seem to forget is that the kid was an absolute prick. He got banned from our servers for breaking rules so he went onto our forums and started bitching, spamming, flaming, and threatening among other things. After getting banned from the forums once he came back with a new IP and several new names. When we finally just banned his IP range he started spamming folk?s email. He was not stopping, and he sure as hell was not learning anything since he was already going to other forums and doing the same thing.
You guys said, that we should have just banned his IP and been done with it, then his IP range and that would have been fine. Well both of those did squat. Bottom line is that we got rid of him in a civil manner by simply calling his parents and letting them know what their son was doing. Whether he was 13 or 16 does not matter, he was breaking rules and doing wrong. Any child above the age of 9 should know better and we did what any principal, teacher, officer, or any other authority figure would have done. He is gone, we have not heard from him since, and did not have to do anything sleazy or underhanded to get it done. If you think there is something wrong with that be sure to call the principal a pathetic nark when you get sent to his office for doing something wrong and he calls home.
Now we could sit here and argue all day but some people?s opinions can be changed about as much as the size of the moon can be changed. So I think I may just leave it at that. Once again thanks to those that showed support or posted respectfully. Now if you will excuse me I have to get back to studying for finals as well as getting my things together for E3.
