What a crappy prediction.

They said it's gonna snow 8-10" at least for NYC. It may be early now, but I don't see suddenly big powder snow falling.

It's just lots of dust snow and wind, barely accumulating.

we'll see how it is in the morning... I shoved at 6 pm when it looked like the snow had let up, but now you can't even tell.

15 inches in Portsmouth NH (measured in my backyard and on my driveway), and the latest update is that blizzard conditions will arrive at 5AM and stick around for several hours. I think 30+ inches is not out of the question for us, particularly as the snow has been falling at ~1.5 inches an hour for 3 hours now.

We're just hitting 24 inches and we're about halfway through the storm. The cars in the parking lot are completely covered due to the snow drift. Working from home tomorrow!! :awe:

Went for a nice stroll an hour ago in Somerville - tons of friendly characters out having fun :) Came back with iced over eyebrows and eyelashes, loved it. Really glad my car is in the garage at work because it's getting to the point where cars parked on the street are 100% buried.

Watching the news right now is comedy gold. It's hilarious how the south makes such a huge deal out of a little snow.

They're talking as if it was a hurricane or something. :awe:

It does look like a decent size storm though, but it would still be business as usual here.

Where are you in Canada? Some places yes, but I grew up in Toronto and people freaked out there over a little snow also.

Some areas in MA are buried with 2 feet plus, with coastal erosion, trees down, thousands without power, etc.

Meanwhile, in our area where they predicted 10-18" we got... 3.

Not the same level of freak out. I am in Markham and I had to clear two feet of snow. Thank goodness for snow blower :awe:

The thing is... in your area, you generally just get snow. You don't get snow plus coastal flooding plus 70+ mph winds... and also in areas that don't often get such.

There are reports of 30-35" coming out of SE New England.. and it's still snowing.

I'm about 15-20 mi West of Boston, and we must have 18-24"+. Haven't been outside since 9pm last night, but can't see where I cleaned the drive way. Fortunately we still have power, that was my biggest concern. Just the amount of snow that is on the deck railing looks to be 18" easy.

EDIT: oh, and it's still snowing. Probably another few inches accumulation until it stops.

this storm only gave us 10 inches here.

UPDATE: 3 people are dead due to the storm.

It sure looks pretty now with the sun shining and all. Bet there will be lots of kids tobogganing today.

Toronto panics easily.

Last time we panicked here in London Ontario was in 2010 when we received 1 meter of snow over a nearly 3 day period.

Close to 30" here in mideast CT and it's just tapering off now. About to go out and clear the driveway soon. I'll get some pics.

God damn it. Dogs needed to go out and I woke up to about another 14 inches. Close to 30 inches here. Glad I went out twice last night to shovel. At least the snow is light now. Don't know where all the snow is going to go when they plow the streets.

Hoping I don't have to try and make my way to my parents house help them dig out. My brothers and i bought my father a huge ass snow blower, hope he can shovel his way to garage to get to it.

Public transportation still shut down and driving ban is still on.

400,000 without power.

On a postive note, I look forward to cranking out the snow shoes and cross country skis.

True enough. Clear sky today, no cloud.
