Too far inland in central NY. I think we are supposed to only get 10 inches. :(

Enjoy it. I don't mind some snow, but 2 feet is just simply too much all at once.

It's just a little snow. Shovel a bit, and go to work or school.

The only problem with that much snow in the city is that there isn't anywhere to put it. Anything over about 6" just becomes a PITA because people start fighting over parking spots - really makes me glad I have a garage. Now just crossing my fingers that power stays on so I have heat.

Meh. I have to leave my wife and child behind. The governor will likely call in the National Guard during the weekend and I won't be able to solve issues around the house.

Got that much here about a week ago. Glad I was off that day and did not have to worry about trying to get the car out and be to work. Probably would have said screw it and took a cab lol.

I am...of course, I'm about 3000 miles west of it...

I grew up in western Mass, so I vaguely remember the nasty winter storms that can roar through.

LONDON - PARKHILL - EASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTY
12:11 AM EST THURSDAY 07 FEBRUARY 2013
WINTER STORM WATCH FOR
LONDON - PARKHILL - EASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTY CONTINUED

SIGNIFICANT SNOWSTORM THREATENING TONIGHT AND FRIDAY.

A LOW WILL TRACK NORTHEAST FROM TEXAS TODAY THEN TRACK JUST SOUTH OF LAKE ERIE ON FRIDAY. THIS LOW IS EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY INTO A WINTER STORM AS IT APPROACHES SOUTHERN ONTARIO.

SNOW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL START SPREADING INTO SOUTHERN ONTARIO FROM MICHIGAN AND LAKE HURON TODAY WITH PERHAPS A COUPLE CM OF SNOW BY THIS EVENING IN A SWATH OF REGIONS EXTENDING FROM LAKE HURON TO WESTERN LAKE ONTARIO.

AS THE LOW GETS CLOSER, LATEST INDICATIONS SUGGEST IT WILL INTENSIFY TONIGHT, WITH AN EXPANDING AREA OF HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO MOST OF SOUTHERN AND PARTS OF EASTERN ONTARIO. SOME FREEZING RAIN AND ICE PELLETS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE EXTREME SOUTHWEST.

SNOW, HEAVY AT TIMES IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WELL INTO FRIDAY AS THE STRONG SYSTEM PASSES JUST SOUTH OF THE GREAT LAKES.

MANY PARTS OF SOUTHERN AND EASTERN ONTARIO MAY RECEIVE 15 CM OF SNOW FROM THIS STORM BY FRIDAY EVENING. SOME AREAS MAY RECEIVE HIGHER AMOUNTS, WITH 25 CM NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. THIS WILL DEPEND ON THE EXACT TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THIS LOW, AND ENHANCEMENT IN THE COLD EASTERLY FLOW OFF OF LAKE ONTARIO FOR EXAMPLE. TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS MAY BE SOMEWHAT LOWER OVER THE EXTREME SOUTHWEST DUE TO SOME FREEZING RAIN AND ICE PELLETS.

BRISK EASTERLY WINDS WILL ALSO RESULT IN BLOWING SNOW IN MANY AREAS TONIGHT AND FRIDAY.

TRAVELLING CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE AND BECOME HAZARDOUS IN THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. THERE MAY BE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE COMMUTE TO WORK ON FRIDAY MORNING AND POSSIBLY FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THE LOW, WHICH WILL AFFECT WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW FALLS.

ENVIRONMENT CANADA IS CLOSELY MONITORING THIS SITUATION. THE WINTER STORM WATCH MAY BE EXPANDED FURTHER TO THE NORTHEAST AS THE EVENT DRAWS CLOSER. WARNINGS MAY ALSO BE ISSUED FOR MANY REGIONS AS WELL.

:(

I'm toward the western edge of "bad." Pain in the neck for me, because I have to figure out tonight if all school activities will be canceled tomorrow night. Planning a big pizza dinner (100 pounds of dough, for starters) and I don't want to be stuck with stuff I have no place to store.

Looks like my area is in for 12"+, I'm 30 miles north of hartford. So, yea, I'm getting gas for the snow blower :)

I'll have to check tonight to make sure I got gas for the snow blower, and tell the boss I'm working from home. Should be a good weekend for sledding with the kids hopefully, so I"m looking forward to a good old fashion blizzard.

Snowmageddon?

Meh.

This one is called Nemo, I guess snowstorms get their own names now :awe:

And I love how the weather channel is calling it a "potentially historic blizzard", like there has never been 2 foot storms in the northeast in the past.

I am so jealous. We have crappy sugar snow here, my turbo sled wants some fresh pow again.
