The Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it relates to your specific questions, can be condensed into a single parable that Jesus told:

A man is robbed and beaten, left by the side of the road. Several "religious" leaders pass by the broken man but do not come to his aid because they do not want to get their hands dirty, do not want to be late for church. A Samaritan (non-Jew) walks along the road, sees the hurt man, and comes to his aid.

The moral of the story is that religion is worthless without a Godly heart, and that love for your neighbor is Christ-like.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is extended to all, no matter what sex creed race mistakes or even false teachings you have. Christians, if following the teachings of Christ, love all peoples and show to all peoples by selfless example the humility and forgiveness that Christ showed them.

Man, you don't need religion to do that. You just need to care about your fellow man. What does God have to do with any of what you just said?

I don't think anything less of anyone who does not believe what I believe, it's not my job to. The Bible tells me this. It's not my job (or any other christian) to press my rules (given from God through the Bible) on anyone. I simply am trying to show love to as many people as possible in hopes that they'll see what I'm experiencing and perhaps ask how they too can experience it.

If there is any collective group that I have a hard time respecting, liking, loving, it'd be Christians. I feel that there are so many that have it wrong along with making a bad name for my religion. I'm trying my hardest to love them, though.

Feeling love for people is one thing, but what do you actually think about the religions of Islam or Hinduism? Are they on the right path to ultimate truth? If so then why is yours any better? Do they have any less right to think the same of your faith?

I think there a person just like me who still loves there children and just worship a different messiah.

I have to agree with zane here (I am a christian) and from what I have read on the muslim religion it is not inteded to be a violent religion (I think islam means peace, might be something like faith too not sure) and that the violence is just a radical interpretation made by few and projected onto all. And also islam is also supposed to be very accepting to christianity and judaism.

And on the topic of the similarity of judaism, chritianity, and islam they all worship the same god. and huduism is monotheistic (I think they belive in different forms of their deity, since god isn't an accurate discription)

I don't support any religion, but I have to say, your comment really was close-minded. I mean, I know where you're coming from: you see the violence in the Middle East, all recent terrorists were Muslim, etc. Intentionally or not, when American media portrays the fanatics of a religion different that your own, it's simple to pass judgement on the whole group. But have you considered that maybe, JUST MAYBE, those videos and those beliefs you hear about are nothing but fanatics and conspiracy theories?

Being an "outsider" to this religion game, I could generalize any religion in a bad light by looking only at the violence that was committed in the religion's name.

talk about close minded...seems to me you have your head up an orifice if you honestly believe that!

Personally I find religious people broadly fall into two camps, those who use it as an excuse for "us vs. them" and those who are true believers so hence aren't worried about other faiths.

Around here Muslims and Hindus aren't really competing with Christianity so the "us vs. them" camp don't pay them much attention, instead it's protestant Christians vs. Catholics.

People are people. Some are mean and some are nice. There's an element of indoctrination particular to religions, but mostly haters are haters and if they weren't religious they would just find something else to be hating on. People like that believe their ills are always somebody else's fault and if it wasn't for them the world would be lush and the streets paved with gold.

Hinduism (a false name for it, the true name being Vedantic Philosophy) is technically monotheistic in that there is one true God but many forms. By giving these forms of God form, it makes it easier to worship because the form symbolizes different virtues such as Ganesh's two teeth.

Not true. If you read the Srimad Bhagvad ( Hindu religious text ) , you will realize that Hinduism is monotheistic and not Poly.

Explain. I'm not reading a religious text to see your point. And I'm going to have to agree somewhat with Odin. Not all muslims are violent, but the mindset in the Middle East is a very feudal and close-minded one.

I'm not sure I understand your premise. You want to know why Christians worship God, but don't understand why Christians think what they believe is the truth? Isn't it kinda axiomatic that someone who is a member of a religion will believe the precepts of that religion are the truth?

I think the OP is asking why they feel that Christians believe their God is the only God.
