So the car dealership just called me....

I've been shopping around for one car, and one car only. Posted a thread about it the other day.

I want a WS6, 2002 Firebird Trans AM with RamAir and a 6-speed transmission.

I drove out to the dealership to take a look at one with the automatic the other day.... just to try to talk myself out of it....

anyhow, got a call about 5 minutes ago, went like this

"Hi, Acemcmac, this is scott from your local friendly chevrolet dealer. We just got an amazing trade and I thought of you as soon as it came in. It's really fast, just like you were asking.... it's a 6-speed Acura RSX Type S with 14k miles."

I just sorta sat there stunned for a minute.

How do you get from a 5.7L 300-350hp something nasty american rear wheel drive monster to a FWD rice burning fart box that probably costs more anyway?!?!?!

grrr.... I can't imagine actually paying money for an FWD car at this time in my life....

ummm.... rwd > fwd in all situations except snow and flooding.

end of story

where are you getting the whole mullet thing from anyway? 😕

I'd much rather have a reliable, tightly-built RSX-S than a huge, jiggly monster of a car like a WS6 Trans Am.

Do what you want though. As an experienced snow driver, I wouldn't drive ANYTHING in PA other than FWD.

Not even AWD?

unless you get a crazy deal because GM can't sell it's cars I wouldn't buy a new GM car. The first 2 years depreciation will kill you. If you want a trans am, find one that is around 2 years old and you will get a nice deal on it.

RSX is boring, it doesn't really open up until you get really high up and by that time what's the point?

Engine has no balls either.

you think you'd look good in that 2002 WS6 heheheh wow

anyway...the average consumer askes 6spd and doesn't care which car has it.

The point is to keep it 'really high up' -- they rev high for a reason..

i dont understand why the other forum members are trying to get you to look at the damn rsx....

you want a beast of a car and they give you some little 4 banger POS. when you find your ws6, post pictures of it.

i dont mean to rag on the rsx (2 of my close friends have one and its a great car), but when you want a ws6, its a bit insulting to have the dealer shove a rsx down your throat.

AND, i see you're in philly. you should roll through central jersey with your transam when you get it. hahahaha

I like WS6's / SS's for what they are.... Staight-line, poor handling, gas burning torque monsters... lots of fun! Have you tried hanging out out at LS1 forums and picking up a nice one off there?

As a semi-experienced snow driver that spends way too much time on your shotty PA roads, I agree with you. Your pansy roads are utterly incompatible with all forms of RWD+Snow driving.

If you've never driven in PA before, you won't know what I'm talking about - but their highways are concrete slab with merge lanes 20 feet long, their rural roads are barely concrete and ride more like dirt roads, and their urban roads are like, all cobblestone. WTF.

Maybe, but in city traffic it feels like exactly what it is, an expensive honda.

CR: you understand the concept of a manual transmission right?

Then why buy a T/A when he can get a Sunfire and rice it out to look like one?
