It is a decision. It mightve happen as a result of other ills in american society. Here, there are no gays. Being gay is shameful here, not something to be proud of like there.

There are gays in every culture in every age that has ever been. Only the attitudes toward gays vary between cultures. Humanity is evolving culturally now far far faster than genetically and the recognition and acceptance of gays will happen over time. Humans are too intelligent to forever accept the absurd attitudes based on the ignorance of the past. Homosexuality is a recurrent fact of human life. Why hate what happens inevitably. Only bigotry keeps hate alive, the stupid belief in the bigotry of past bigots who wrote rules they felt made sense based at the time on their total scientific ignorance.

While rabid and I come down on opposite sides of a lot of issues, you won't get much support here calling Americans racist. Especially after coming down in favour of differential taxes for muslims and non-muslims. Hypocrite of the year should be reserved for someone special, but I think you've shown some hypocricy by supporting differential taxes and then calling Americans racist and intolerant.
