"It’s a repeat. It happened to me the first time. The second time it’s happening, someone’s life got taken," Kelly said. "He provoked that."



It does seem like the has a George Zimmerman-like need to act like a LEO because he's armed. This kind of person is exactly why this law is wrong IMO.

The jerk was ifching to shoot somebody & succeeded in creating a scenario where he could do so with impunity under Florida law.

Play obnoxious parking Nazi with enough people & somebody will eventually push you & then you can blow them away. Simple.
 
This does not look like a "good" shoot to me, if there is such as thing. The shooter initiated the incident by standing beside the car and saying whatever he was saying. In Texas, that's a very important element if you decide to use deadly force. You can't start some shit and then shoot someone. The other piece is that it appears the victim started to back away before the shooter drew his gun. Hopefully, whatever needs to happen to get this guy charged, & in court, happens and a jury of his peers can decide his fate.

Except he wasn't "defending" his wife, she was in a locked car and the man was talking/yelling to her about her illegally parking in a handicapped zone. The violent assault by the husband can not be construed as "defending". It was his violent actions that precipitated his death.

It sucks, but keep your violence to yourself.

Taj, if the shooter did that in Texas he would be arrested and charged with murder. I have that directly from the judge my son clerk's for.

False. The video clearly shows that the woman stepped out of the car. I'm confident that the asshole would have shot her had she pushed him aside.

Most likely, but it would be up to a jury for a conviction. Never a sure thing. My point is that the shooting victim brought disaster down on himself with his initial use of violence.

The shooter initiated the incident. If I was in the victims position I don't know how I would've reacted but, imo, he was justified in putting some distance between the shooter and his wife/kids.

I'm pretty sure if it was me I would have done the same thing as the deceased. I probably wouldn't have stopped. I would have taken his firearm, unload it and beat his ass. My wife has stage IV cancer and sometimes I forget to put up the placard.
 
I don't think there was any indication he was armed until he drew his pistol.

My understanding is that a DA can still charge him. I think it's warranted.
