Proof of what , A law That I says I don't have to pull over for someone speeding? That's ludicrious. Laws aren't worded as such.Originally posted by: Marshallj

Can you show me some proof of that?
I live in New Jersey, and here you MUST yield to faster moving vehicles, even if that vehicle is breaking the law. It is not your job to judge whether he is speeding or not, that is the police's job. All you need to worry about is MOVING for the person who is trying to pass you.
Besides, it is against the law to STAY in the left lane. You are not allowed to cruise along in the left lane. It doesn't matter whether someone's trying to pass you or not, and it doesn't matter how fast they are going if they are. You are NOT allowed to stay in the left lane... it's a passing lane only.
Good Try.
The law in question, which is standard to all 50 states is "The Basic Speed Law" wherein it is illegal to drive faster than road conditions will permit. That does not allow you to exceed the posted speed limit.
It is not my responsibility to pull over just because someone wants to tailgate and speed. If it is unsafe for me to do so, you can just wait.
You cannot force someone to engage in unsafe lane changes or speed simply because you decide to speed and tailgate and engage in unsafe behavior.
In CA. , one is only mandated to pull over to allow vehicles to pass if there are more than 5 vehicles behind you and you are NOT at the maximum speed limit. Campers, trucks going uphill, that sort of thing.
The law isn't there to allow you to turn the road into Sebring.....
Nice try , yourself.
