keep in mind the user is only allowed to play for 1 hour at a time. The game automatically crashes past this amount of time played so the user can go outside and play in real life.

They spent most of the night on twitter trying to explain this to everyone who thought "zOMG the sky is falling!!!".

They simply explained that they have learned a ton about optimizing and to trust them, you should be thrilled at that, not seeing it as impending doom. 🙂

IOW, relax about the install footprint.

Textures are textures, no tricks or "optimisations" can recreate lost information. I'm optimistic too, but it does sound like they are going with a "looks good enough" approach.

I wonder how Skyrim would run with integrated Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge graphics. I'd bet it should be well playable on medium settings with Ivy Bridge and slightly laggy with low settings with Sandy Bridge.

I'm optimistic, but honestly, it does sound like PR speak (aka bs) to calm the masses. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

We've seen the initial screenshots, video's, etc... and they look solid. So I'm more optimistic than not. I do agree, though it's a little odd but as rigs get more and and more powerful they have more options for how to deliver the data to you.

same here;
i really think this will be one of those games that with patience will show its potential; can't wait for the launch date!

They would be pretty stupid to lie about it. Modders will tear into the data files and know the truth 15 minutes after release.
