chick playing with her cell phone would rather fuck up traffic for everyone else in the world than get in the right lane. Her being on her phone and impeding traffic is worse than his asshattery.

Just wish Darwin would have gotten them both.
This x1000.

Just in case anyone's interested, she was violating FL. law on 2 counts period.

(count 1) As of 2011 Fl. Legislature amended the FL State Motor Vehicle Code requiring left lane traffic to move over and allow faster moving traffic to pass regardless of speed involved.

It was ostensibly for situations such as this, unfortunately the FHP has been very reluctant/lax in enforcing this, much as they have been in (count2) enforcing the ban on using a non-hand free phone while driving (as a secondary violation, and we all know, if they want to, they can find a reason to pull you over and then they can ticket for the non-handsfree phone usage)

Here in FL it took mandatory seatbelt usage almost 10 years to go from a secondary violation (you can't be pulled over only for this) to a primary violation (you can be pulled for just this)

Hopefully the non-handsfree cell phone ban won't take as long :whiste:

I don't know how you enforce that on a section of road that has left turn lanes. You can't be required to pull to the right if it means missing your turn.

Is there also such a law against using a camera? Because she wasn't on the phone.

Obviously if she's using the camera she's not able to fully pay attention to the road so of course it's illegal.

Of course you don't have to pull over in a turn lane, that's nonsense.
But she wasn't in a turn lane until the end of the video.

The law says use of a non-handsfree phone, it does not specify talking, texting or recording to cover all use and just to eliminate technicalities as you brought up. It was written to cover all use that may/does distract the driver and the wording has been used by other states since.

Now if we can just get the legislature to make it a primary violation, but they are wanting to "let the people have time to get used" to it as they did with the mandatory seatbelt law.
I say BS, publicize it starting in Jan. and enact and enforce it starting in July, just as almost all other changes in the law are done here in FL.

Also the driver of a vehicle may not have an active video screen within their line of sight (under a different much older law, except a navigation screen showing navigation), so if she was looking at what she was recording, to keep in frame, and it appears that way, since the entire video was decidedly in frame, then that would be a third count.

How do you get _into_ a turn lane on a 50MPH road if you're traveling in the right-hand lane with passing traffic? If I'm making a left turn up ahead, screw how fast the idiots behind me want to go, because I'm here for a reason.

Just got back from a 3 week trip in Florida, (Bradenton area), the pavement does get very slick there, I guess they have never heard of crowning a road, and the snow birds are terrible awful drivers. So glad to be among people that know how to merge and turn faster than 2 MPH again.
