Well this was stupid all around. So many things wrong with that video starting with the fact that she was filming this as she was driving...

I believe most states allow it for instances like this as it provides proof of the situation.

You can see the passenger seat, it's empty.

Yeah, add that time to the ~40 seconds of the video that shows no vehicles in the other lane... She could have started the pass at 25-30 seconds in to get around those two trucks.

This was completely avoidable with, get this, defensive (or rather, smart) driving. That being said, got a ton of satisfaction from seeing the guy wreck.

Gene pool would be cleaner with both of these types of people filtered.

There were trucks in the right lane the entire time, that's the reason the pickup couldn't just get in that lane and pass.

At the start you can see one of the trucks in the lane, and then it kinda goes out of view because its right next to her and there was another truck in front of that one. Then later you see them pass those and then the asshole in the pickup gets into the right lane to pull his dickhead shenanigans.

See thats when I thought she sped up to antagonize him, which resulted in his rage going into overload.

But I'll admit I only watched it once.

Slower traffic keep right applies to all multi lane roads, not just freeways. Florida has such a law.

He's an ass but she's no saint either. Safe driving is courteous driving. If you're not driving courteously then you're not driving safely, no matter how much you might think you're in the right.

She showed her speed to be about 57-58 MPH and I thought I read that it was a 50 MPH zone. So she was going 8 MPH over the speed limit already, was passing slower traffic, and was on a road with left hand turn lanes and intending to make a left turn up ahead. There's no reason for her to move to the right.

So why did she gun it when he passed her on the right?

Passive aggressive driving is still aggressive driving.

She claims she began recording only after the guy had been taligating her for a while.

"for a while"...it's clear this isn't her first rodeo. I hope she ends up all over the internet now and reaps what she sows.

She is one of the main reasons Florida has to keep adding more lanes because of congestion. You can see it in her video. If most of that light traffic all got into a single or couple lanes that were flowing at their speeds, the pick up truck could have gotten by without affecting anyone.

What's even worse are those that merge onto I-95 in a 70MPH at 40-45MPH and proceed to cut everyone off moving into the far left lane and occasionally cause pile ups as driver's going 70MPH or more see them at the last minute and cannot stop in time.

Video clearly showed about 48 MPH. :whiste: Guy in truck deserved what happened to him.

Agree, I use I-95 a lot and in the Daytona area it's a nightmare where it merges with I-4, between bad drivers and bad off-ramp set-up's there is always a chance of trouble at any time.

If you tailgate me, my courtesy pretty much immediately disappears...

Uh no, she's doing 58. Look again.

I don't think it's relevant. If I was doing 100 and some guy doing 110 wanted to pass me, I'd let him by.

They're both bad drivers.

So what you're saying is that if another driver puts you in a potentially dangerous situation, your response is to escalate it to even more dangerous like this woman did?

I didn't recall seeing them initiall, but on a second view it is there from the start. That means she wasn't passing them, she doesn't pass a vehicle until the 45 second mark. It doesn't take that long to pass someone. That means she was a rolling roadblock. Wonder how long she was doing that before the guy started raging?

driver was being a douche (speeding up when he passed), but tailgater was even worse, and lol at him losing control and crashing his truck.

Bad drivers, both of them.

Jesus Christ. Finally a voice of reason. Reading these forums I think some people have never gone outside.. either that or AT is comprised of all Walters from big lebowski.

I'm not sure if it's just me or what but if people tailgate me, I move over even if I'm going really fast already. What the hell do I care if you want to risk your life to get to the next red light? I'm avoiding that train (car) wreck and not wasting combined hours of my life getting worked up over it.

Not siding with anyone over this next statement but that truck was really not that close to her. When I change lanes sometimes or when someone changes lanes in front of me while I still have forward momentum, sometimes I get within inches of the next car. I back off right away but just sayin... I've been much closer and had people much closer to my car than that before while going probably 80. As long as it's not intentional and you're really careful it's all good. Maybe I just don't get worked up over drivers anymore. Everyone is an idiot, including yourself, live with it.

Initially I was under the impression that the dude passed her, noticed the cellphone camera, then slowed down to give her the finger being that I don't hear her engine revving up, but at the same time I don't see his brake lights go off either. What am I missing to make it obvious that she sped up? If she did, she's as bad as he is and anyone defending her should DIACW.

At 58MPH, should would have most likely been going with the flow of traffic (which is usually 5-10MPH over in most places) and the guy behind were just being impatient along with being an ass.

If I have someone tailgating me while I'm traveling at a reasonable speed, I'll let off the gas and slow to a crawl.

But who knows whether or not she had a passenger recording it as pointed out earlier?

Why do I get the feeling that many people here would be much more likely to resemble the guy in the pickup truck? Sneering faces, veins popping in their foreheads, middle fingers raised and all the rest. In a hurry to get nowhere in their center-of-the-universe meaningless lives and mad at the world because some lady is going slow in the fast lane.

He would have been happy to pass earlier had he been given the option. It was the woman filming that wanted him in the center (and slightly behind) of her universe.
