Whats also strange is that the next city over, which is all commercial, has high fires and crime even though commercial taxes are 0% too. For some reason criminals come to this city from the "normal" city nearby, but those criminals never visit my pure residential city.

Crimes can only be committed at commercial properties. If you only have residential, you don't have any place for a crime to be committed, hence no criminals.

Wow that's actually a good deal. You should post that in the hot deals section.

The price of simcity popped back up to $59.99 shortly after I ordered. Dead space 3 is also part of the deal and can be had for $19.99.

I got over a years supply of 2in1 shampoo & conditioner, body wash and two games for ~$80.

Played a few hours last night in dagamer34's (Falafelist's) region last night. Built my entire city on medium avenues, then upgraded to streetcar avenues eventually. My entire city is serviced by streetcars; except the streetcars all go to the same stop. There will be literally a depot's worth of streetcars lined up to go to one stop. It's kind of silly.

Yeah, same thing with my city. Happens with garbage trucks and buses too, they all follow each other.

Yep. Nobody cares if taxes are 0%. I have a city with just over 1 million. No water, power, sewage, trash, police, fire, clinics, nothing at all but residential. Fires don't happen, people don't get sick, crime is non-existant.

Oddly enough only 11,000 of them commute out. The rest stay there, jobless, no power, parks, doing nothing. Just existing. Then again maybe the other 990,000 don't really exist in the first place, from that fudged population stuff..

Whats also strange is that the next city over, which is all commercial, has high fires and crime even though commercial taxes are 0% too. For some reason criminals come to this city from the "normal" city nearby, but those criminals never visit my pure residential city.
So you created a third-world city? I'm working on the same thing

Ok but what about the lack of fires and sickness? One would think there would be more fires from people trying to stay warm or cook food =p Shouldn't all the sewage and trash mean more sick people too?

SimCity has its own logic. Which doesn't make much sense some of the times.

Wow! This game truly is broke! Anyway, not here to trash the game. I have only played an hour and I really like the look and feel of it. Too bad it doesn't play like it would in real life...

Damn, should have jumped on it earlier.

On various occasions I've seen murder reports at residences.

Whadda mean?

In my city it's not uncommon for me to see DPW trucks working overtime moving snow around. There will be 4 trucks blocking off the street and 10 picking up and loading the snow. Keep in mind this commonly happens in March and April when the snow melts. A huge cash drain and time sink that doesn't need to happen, but does anyway.

Or how about 6 snow plows following each other down the same path?

Garbage truck acting oddly in Simcity? You guys never watched the Sopranos?

This stuff is more real life than you think. Whether or not it was intended to work that way in-game is something we will never know. Unless it get's covered under a DLC unlock :)

Well if you put it that way.

This is weird, but it adds happiness to your city:

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9416786.page

Free downloadable DLC which adds the Nissan Leaf charging station to your account/game.

The test server has Cheetah mode enabled. Making a new city there so I can see if they are improving traffic or not.

Nice. I'll see if it works.

Also, maybe a stupid question, but what are the benefits to adding signs to buildings?

I have noticed some signs like the Arena and Casino tell you that they draw in more visitors. However the signs for Police Departments, Fire departments, etc don't say anything, so they are probably for looks only.

That's what I thought. I was hoping signs for say the hospital would make more people go to said hospital.

Holy fuck I'm getting pissed off. I can't play the game for more than 5 minutes without a message popping up saying "Your city cannot be processed at this time" or something of that nature. Then I have to "roll back" and lose my progress. WTF is this shit.

Game filtering is still broken... Why are full regions that were created weeks ago at the top?

Been like that since launch, remember, they essentially released an unfinished game.
