We all know blackangst is against civil rights. He is against gay rights and female rights as well (ex. abortion). I am not even sure how he even got married, although I do have a theory. He probably went on a vacation to India, went to some farm village there, and threw money and wine at a frothing greedy mouth of some farmer for their daughter. That is the only way I can think he could have a wife.

Thing is these days a "conservative" Democrat is still pretty dang far "left" compared to most of the GOP!

Tough to directly compare politics in our respective country's.

see you are falling into the trap of language and rhetoric that that right controls better. A conservative democrat is not far left compared to most of the GOP, most of the GOP is far right of a moderate Democrat.

I dont know, AOC and Sanders speaks my language. Also, your whole political scene is so fucked by big money it looks almost a lost cause. You cant do anything until you get big money out of the game. How are you gonna do that as a conservative democrat? :)

Answer to question posed in thread title: No, of course not.

Answer to poll question: Only if they want to, why should anyone make trans people compete in sports?

What should the poll question have been? Should trans athletes be eligible to compete in the transitioned-to "gender" division?

My answer to what the poll question should have been: Gender doesn't actually exist, only biological sex. Athletic leagues should offer divisions for sex XX, sex XY and Co-Ed, giving every athlete 2 possible divisions to compete in: their biological sex, and Co-Ed... if they can "make the cut" to begin with.

Arbitrary "problem" avoided entirely.

I believe all trans people should compete in sports whether they want to or not.

Well the poll and thread question are not the same and really aren't the bigger issue. The bigger issue is the fact that anyone is supporting a prepubescent kid in a sex change when their bodies and minds are clearly not developed. On top of that, it's really sad to see parents encouraging it so they can stand out for financial gain or notoriety (i.e. school scholarships ).

If someone wants to change their "gender", fine. But the surgeries and hormone therapy should be illegal until they are at least an adult (18).

I’m going to let parents do the parenting and keep my beliefs to myself and I sure as hell don’t want government telling families what to do.

I thinks extremely sad and selfish to see parents promoting the idea only for their kid to compete better in sports for scholarships and attention.

Government tends to intervene in child abuse.

Is it child abuse like abortion is murder? Or did you have some stats that show parents doing things to kids to change their sex that doctors and psychologist wouldn’t approve of? Or is this yet another made up culture war that you’ve fallen for despite not existing in any meaningful way?

Or do you have actual data that supports how this issue is being framed?

A lot of women also have no respect for women, including themselves. I have a female cousin that posts anti-women's rights crap on Facebook everyday.

Parents attempting to do what's best for their child and as supported by doctors, is not child abuse. It's disrespectful to all the kids that are actually being abused right now to even make such a claim. It's also fucking ridiculous coming from the same people that bitch about not being allowed to beat your children anymore.

How about a compromise? Ban trans athletes from competing, but ban everybody else as well. Everyone go find something more constructive to do than running round in circles and jumping over hings for no reason.

Whats best for the individual should be the choice of the individual without being coerced or manipulated into a decision. The decision to undergo a change should be only under the direct consent of that person and when they are an adult.

and you have evidence that this is the case...how often, exactly?
Why would it matter? You think it's okay for children to be manipulated if it's not a majority of the time?
You're either incredibly niave or in total denial that any transwoman athlete that was already competing as a male who decides to identify as a woman and then competes in women athletics didn't do so purely for the competitive edge.

So instead of answering my question, you make another claim based on... What evidence, exactly? How often does this happen if at all?

Facts > feels

And why should the government step in and area where a medical body could create much better guidelines?
