I found one annoynig bug; if you click on a clue it pops up a wall of text; now if you click on the next clue it pops up a wall of text over the first wall of text and you can't read it; if you click again both walls of text vanish but if you click on the clue again you can't bring up the wall of text to read it - very annoying and amateurish bug.

Once you bring up the second wall of text, don't click anything and the first one will fade away after a couple of seconds. This happened to me early on in the game.

This happens for literally every single game that gets released on Steam, regardless of how good it actually is. Welcome to the gaming "community".

To be fair we've been waiting almost 20 years for a good Shadowrun game.
The SNES one was OK but provided a limited experience.

I just played for 3 and a half hours and it didn't even feel like an hour went by. I'm really enjoying it, love all the dialogue stuff.

Me too. Call me old school but a game like this works much better with text and no voice acting. Feels like you're playing a book.

I just started coming to this site. The community here seems to be way more mature. Players that loved games like Planescape and FO1,2. That know what 486 is... Anyway back to game I've got 2 hours into it. I love it so far.. Its nostalgic, but in a good way. The game just feels right. I think they captured the "Shadowrun environment" very well. I'm really looking forward to some of new modules that are coming out.

Man people are bitching up storm over at Steam forums about this game. It doesn't have this doesn't have that blah blah... Sounds like people had really high expectations.

Steam forums are filled with theses kinds of posts. I NEVER read there, always filled with crap and unconstructive comments.

Really enjoying the game thus far, though I feel like the campaign is short. Haven't completed it yet, but it just feels that way.

Backer Here. And Like most I've been waiting about 20 years for another SR title that's a freakin' RPG. I'm around six hours in and my quick summary of it are as follows.

Pros:
Combat is a bit on the simple side, but solid and satisfying
Great art direction and atmosphere
Rock solid writing and characterization
Wonderful soundtrack

Cons:
Very linear
Slightly clunky interface (can't change key binds, no custom hotbar for items and skills, object interaction seems a little wonky but it's nothing remotely game breaking)
Check point save system. After some of the horrid things I've heard about it I was expecting a nightmare, however I've not had any problems with it thus far (yes I would like to save whenever I like) I can see it being a problem for people who play it in small chunks.

Good to hear people are generally liking this. I really liked the SNES one 20 some years ago. I'll be picking it up once I get through some of the backlog.

Super tempted to get in on this, but I'm waiting for the mod community to blow it wide open before I bite. Don't want to get burned out too soon and then lose the desire to come back once the best stuff is released.

It appears to be a little longer than the 12 hour length that was being thrown around. 14 hours in so far and I've only had to repeat one mission. It's hard to tell if I'm near the end or not.

Some really tense battles later in the game. I love when one person is in the matrix and doing things that effect the other 3 in the real world. The game switches back and forth so you do both simultaneously.

I haven't even touched bionic implants, decking or drones with my main character. I'm definitely up for a replay with a totally different setup.

They don't use deckers enough in the game. The first half they were useless. When you need one, one is provided. Only one mission required you to bring one along. I think you might have gotten some more money on a couple of missions taking one, but overall taking someone who's a better fighter makes most missions easier.

So I agree the matrix part was well done, but underutilized.

You might want to have a few extra medkits in your stash before you get to the end.

Finished the game last night. Being a Shadowrun RPG player since 1994 I didn't hesitate to become a backer for this game. Wasn't disappointed.

However, was not pleased with a few things.

1. The "Heal" spell is almost completely useless. When a character takes 27 damage, 16 damage, then 1 damage in a turn, the Heal spell only heals the 1 point of damage. Made the final stage very difficult since there is no way to buy more Medkits before taking it on.

2. Not making good gear available until later in the game. Funny how as the game progresses suddenly the same merchants have access to better stuff! Make everything available right off the bat but make the price hike steeper. Maybe with the right Etiquette test you can get the price down or offer a side mission with the merchants so they agree to sell you higher grade gear.

3. Too linear. It'd be nice to take several side jobs here and there to build up karma and nuyen. Nice way to make new contacts, too, which could open up higher grade cyberwear, gear, etc.

4. Inability to explore the environment. Obviously this is due to a lack of time and is left to future DLCs and community content. Still, makes the game seem a bit hollow.

Overall I enjoyed the game. Looking forward to seeing how it grows over time.

Yep, finished it last night and only needed 1 or 2 medkits. I don't want to spoil too much but here was my strategy:

Very slow pace. Sometimes I would run far enough that the bugs would spawn, then backtrack to a choke point. That way I could deal with one at a time.

2 guys on shotgun, spamming 'Kneecap' to do -1 AP. Keeps the bugs from attacking too much for Heal to keep up with.

Haste on my two players carrying the Aegis.

2 drones & 1 conjured spirit, basically just used as distractions for the bugs. Conjured spirits were also great for buffing my team with things like Dodge.

It took ~90 minutes to finish the game after I left Telestrian.

I haven't finished the game yet but I can agree with all the above. The heal spell in particular pisses me off.

Anyone else facing money woes in this game. I'm literally broke and have no way of being able to put together another team for side mission right after you return from the run where you fight in the real world and in the matrix. Any suggestions? My character is a decker but I kind of stop putting points in her and level up drones (lvl 5 for drone skills right now) when I realized what BladeVenom said above, i.e. decking skills are not utilized that much or at all in this game.

Here's a weird bug I've run into. Sometimes the game won't let me select the runner I want for a mission. The runner added is the one highlighted by default. It doesn't matter how many times I select another runner.

For the runner selection be sure to add them using the big + sign. Embarassing how long that baffled me.

Yeah i'm having a damn blast with this game so far. I'm 3 hours in I think and even though the story feels a bit generic the overall feel of the game makes me want to continue playing.

Love how they let you grow your toon as you wish and there's plenty of skills in there to create completely different characters.

It's a bit linear butit's quite well done. I love the music, which feels like the old SNES game, love the gameplay and the details they put in the game. I really like the mix in techniques they use to render the details.

Great game so far that totally worth $20 ($18 if you P-O'd).

When that mission became available I was almost out of money. Then after talking to Johnny Clean, you get another mission which pays $9000 upfront. So that gave me the money I needed to do the optional mission. Hint, I think you want to do the optional mission first, I don't think it will be available later if you do the story mission first.

Game is allright. Gameplay is about what I expected, but it needs a lot of work in the graphics and UI departments. Why don't I have a button bar to store spells and med kits if I want to use them out of combat for example? Shadowrun Online is looking a whole lot better from the videos I've seen of it. Not exactly disappointed, but its not a game that's going to win many more fans.

So I finished the campaign last night, and now I'm trying my hand at the few custom campaigns in the Steam Workshop. Did one, don't even remember what it was called but it was a basic 1 hour demo for an in the works campaign and I really enjoyed it. If the community for this game really takes off we have another Neverwinter Nights on our hands, and that would be fantastic!

Yeah, I still have this at the top of my radar and really want to get into it. Waiting for a little more maturity, I guess, and more time outside of the other games I am playing.
