YES!! Go Fard GO!!

That is excellent news. I hope it comes to be. Our team will need it since rleach and robor are getting screwed.
:(

You probably won't get every PC though. I've run into a couple issues that prevented me from getting all the PC's I wanted:

1) Many users feel strongly about their screen savers, that minority will protest.
2) Religous implications...believe it or not. Some users I deal with are very religous and told me they don't believe in "aliens" and they thought what I was doing was wrong and a waste of time. arrrggg

Either way, best of luck to you!

Fardringle, that would be very very good!! (for you, not for me :() But hey, it all goes toward helping the TA team & the SETI program in the long run. :)

Hopefully, I'll get to 300 before the "powers that be" approve.
At any rate, good luck.

Cool ,nice assimilations :D ,you'll shoot up the charts :)

Fardingle

Wow! ,that would be awesome if you could get all those! :Q:D ,Jlytle will be able to get his own back on me and many others!.

Badthad

Don't count me out yet ,I'll fight tooth & nail.BTW I finally got the K6 200 running ,on v3.0 CLi it looks like the 1st WU will take about 34 hrs! :(.The PII 233 though keeps giving me problems ,its not locking up anymore but the last 2 WU's were taking forever (eg 6% 21 hrs!),definatley something else wrong ,so that 2 WU's gone :(

>>>Some users I deal with are very religous and told me they don't believe in "aliens" and they thought what I was doing was wrong<<<<

Ah Jesus! ,some people can be so closed minded! :|,& don't get me started on Religion! ;)

BadThad: I agree that those would be valid concerns, IF the people using the computers had a choice in the matter.. :)

Jlytle is going to be doing a 'push' install of a system which will prohibit them from doing anything on their computers except for running the one program they are supposed to have (these computers are in telephone call centers that only use two programs for the phone agents) and part of that push installation will be the SETI screensaver which will be completely hidden from them, and will automatically blank the screen when it activates, so even if they did have a problem with SETI, they won't know it's running, and they can't do anything about it anyway.. :D

Edit: fixed some typos that I was going to let go, but kept bugging me.. :p

Fardringle, and team.

They are mostly Celeron 466's with 32Mb of Ram, and Celeron 566's with 64Mb of Ram.
I am going to assimilate 10 or so hopefully by tommorrow.
Good thing you're on our team FD or I wouldn't be as generous.:D

I'll let everybody know what the boss says.

The way I am setting these systems up, they wont be able to do anything but work.
No start menu, My computer Icon is gone. The only icons they will have on the desktop are shotcuts to the two programs they will use.:D

It will take some time to assimilate them, considering the machines are spread out over a 200 mile radius.:(

Really? I thought they were mostly 400's...that's even better! :) (I guess that just goes to show that I shouldn't believe everything Ken says.. :D )

P.S. Why are you still up? You should be getting your rest so you can go and get those computers set up in the morning!!

Update:

Lhampel has infact added another 1.1 GHZ of CPU power to the "Crew" :)
Details:
BP6 w/2 366@550 Celerons
128 MB Ram
NT 4.0
Command Line 3.0 & SETI Driver (24/7)

Badthad, I'm just trying to make a run for it, before the holiday hits. :)

Lhampel...man, at least I have a bit of competition...finally, LMAO. :) Sht, I'm gonna have to go out and find a couple more 24/7's to asslaminate today. Someone else here has got to be on vacation today thru the holiday.

You're gonna need it bro, I think I can sustain about 60 wu's a day over the next few days. I may even hit 70+ by thursday/friday...assuming bekeley.edu keeps the SETI site running properly.

Badthad, pray that I don't start running SETI on the computers @ work :)
150-200 WU days would be an average, honestly.

Every system runs NT, 24/7 and most of the 600+ Workstations are P3's.

Hell, I'm praying you get those machines!!!! I don't care if you beat me in a race or pass me in the stats. Our team is going to need those wu's with rleach2 getting knocked out by some sniveling bastage.

Good Luck and assimilate, assimilate, assimilate!! :D

BTW ALL - Give me a user rating. I activated it just the other day and some jerk gave me a bloody 4!! Man, that hurts my feelings..LOL.

I demand a recount! My sources say that at least 25% of the computers who cracked for Lhampel actually intended to crack for me, but they were confused by the format of the Work Units they were given and accidentally sent them to the wrong account! :D

p.s. Only 8 yesterday? Yuck! I'm gonna have to go check on my systems again.. :p

Badthad

I gave you a nice rating ,deserved I think :)
BTW ,damn your gonna whip my arse! :p ,oh PII 233 is sorted now (I hope it stays that way)& I overclocked it to 263MHz:).Too little to late? we'll see......

Jlytle

Hi ,long time no see (hear?) ,I hate to say this but putting SETI on those 32Mb PC's will cause chronic swap file activity ,SETI uses about 14 Mb RAM when running ,9Mb when idle waiting to run as a screensaver. Can't you convince them that those machines MUST have more RAM? ;)
Otherwise cool assimilations :D

Badthad, I gave you a rating...but...I couldn't figure out how to enter negative numbers. :) (j/k);)
@ least now your average is over 8 :)

Keep your SETI crunch'n
let the CPU keep you warm
may we never loose the data
to keep SETI crunch'n all night long

Thanks for the ratings guys. :D I knew I could count on my forum buds!!

Sorry for the ass whippin Assim1. Honestly, at the start, I figured I would probably lose. Those three 733's are producing much beyond my expectations. :D Plus, I managed to assimilate 2 new P3-500's, but just running screen saver. Must say, I'm very suprized and happy about my current output levels....mainly just luck with work. Hope you all have the same fortune someday! \

Assim1 - Where did u get the seti mem use data? Experimentation?

Assim1,

Thanks for the advice, I wasn't aware of Seti's memory requirements in screen saver mode.:)

I will try to assimilate the 566's with 64MB of ram soon.:D

Thanks
