Looking for a use, like to get nice headphones but just can't think of a use. I already have two headphones for the PC for gaming, and these aren't for that anyway.

When I first got my cheap sennheisers I could hear so much extra stuff in games that my Logitech Z5500 speakers missed.
I found it hard to believe that headphones made that much of a difference in some games.

I find the HD555s to be more natural sounding, assuming you have them paired with a good source. The SR-60s sound fine out of almost anything, but the HD555s seem to be pickier in that aspect. The SR-60s were too colored in the mids and had too much treble for me.

These headphones are great! There is a simple 5 minute mod you can do that turns these into the HD595s, and it's reversible!

There's also a "soundstage mod" that involves cutting out the inner grill/mesh. It's not reversible, but I think it makes them sound noticeably better.

Another thing I want to do is replace the cable with a much shorter one that ends in a 1/8" plug. Right now I'm using a 1/4->1/8 adapter, plus a little pigtail to save stress on headphone jacks.

Which mod? The 555 to 595 mod is subtle, but noticeable. Do remember that the 595s are identical to the 555s other than that piece of foam Sennheiser stuck in there. I think the soundstage mod made the biggest difference. I wasn't too worried about doing it, given that the HD600s and 650s do not have any inner grills...just the outer one.
