Seeking comments on new build based on Ryzen Vega, quieter/smaller form factor/integrated graphics/retired-casual gamer/movie watching

I've been living with a gt610 since my gtx 265 broke and playing some e-sports games with the minimum settings once every few weeks hasn't made me miss a gaming PC at all. I watch more TV serials instead too so quietness has become more important and I'd like to tend more towards an HTPC.

I would like therefore to go for something less noisy and smaller.

I have a Corsair TX650 (650W, I was young then) power supply I'd like to keep since PSUs are very expensive and this one should fit.

I have a crappy 1080p 24'' TN monitor that must be very old (second-hand) and will be replaced as well. Picked a cheap 4K that I saw recommended on a site. Maybe I can get a QHD if I can be sure that 1080p movies won't look bad with the upscaling.

I don't need more than 500 GB ssd for real. I've read that NVME isn't really worth the price difference. Compared to a 970 evo I'm sparing 65.- which is a lot.

I'm really open to comments about the choice of ryzen vega and the RAM to go with it (it's not on the QVL but it should be compatible, but I'm not really sure).

I'm happy with my i5 750 really, it's just that I feel this computer is half destroyed, obsolete and not matching my requirements anymore and I've been looking at getting a clean slate for some time and I now have a 10% discount on this website so....

Corsair TX650 power supply, recycle a 128GB 840 evo SSD and use it for downloads and double storage of important files from now on

default, I don't want to bother or spend a cent on this

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?

I'd like to upgrade from 1080p. I thought 4K because prices are down and I'm scared at how 1080p films look on QHD.

Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

If you are using a PSU dating from a i5-750 build then it might be a good ideal to go ahead and buy a new PSU. But otherwise the new build looks fine for your use case and should last a while.

alright I'm pulling the trigger

The PSU was actually replaced midway through so it should be good. I might replace it later. I will just cut the unusued cables if I need space, I have access to tools and material at work anyway.
