See, this is why everyone should be packing heat at all times

Because every human is so rational, even keel and level-headed at all times, they're obviously only going to use these guns for legitimate defensive reasons. And no better example exists of the imminently rational human than the sub-species known as "Florida Man." Like remember that ex-cop in the movie theater who blew that guy away for throwing a bag of popcorn at him? That was freakin awesome!

To the story at hand.

Two Florida men charged with attempted murder after two children shot during road rage incident | CNN

Summary: two Florida men driving side by side, one apparently cuts the other off. So the aggrieved Florida man decides to exercise his 2A rights, pulls out his .45, fires into the other Florida Man's car. He misses the driver, but hits his 4 year old daughter in the leg. She screams. So of course her dad pulls out his phone and calls the police, giving them the other guy's license number..

Oh wait, just kidding! No, after all, this is Florida Man! He pulls out his Glock 9 and fires the entire magazine into the rear of the other vehicle. But like the other guy, he misses the driver, instead hitting the man's 14 year old son in the back, collapsing his lung.

Fortunately, both children survived. But with parents like these, who needs predators?

The reason I highlight this case is that it's important when arguing for gun control to use examples of heat of the moment shootings. Because with a premeditated shoot, they're going to argue the killer would have used a different weapon had the gun not been available. But with these rage shootings, in almost every case the victim would not have been shot had the gun(s) not been present. Let these tards explain how they would have used throwing knives and ended up with the same result. Because knives totally rock when used against people in moving vehicles.

Uh, yes, a gun drawer and ammo compartment should be required accessory in new vehicles. 38 caliber minimum. You see, if you know the other guy has a gun, you won't be prone to pull yours. Deterrence. It works for nuclear nations.

San Jose, CA in a first in the nation move now requires gun owners to purchase insurance.

"San Jose's city council this winter passed an ordinance requiring most of the California city's gun owners to carry liability insurance for accidental shootings "

Accidental. Intentional shootings, no problem.

If you wanna be really safe go to Texas. Most anybody can carry in Texas.

Beginning September 1, 2021, HB1927 made it legal in Texas for most people 21 or over to carry a handgun in a holster without a permit both openly and/or concealed. This law modified the previous open carry law from 2016 by eliminating the requirement to have a license to carry.

Yes, Texas, another bastion of rational humanity. Like this one:

Texas mother, a vocal gun rights advocate, killed by police after fatally shooting her two daughters during 'family argument' – New York Daily News (nydailynews.com)

Another perfect example. Posts online sneering at liberals for wanting gun control, then just months later shoots and kills BOTH of her daughters after becoming enraged during a family argument. The second daughter was running away, had made it outside and was running across the street when her mom shot her in the back. No a knife would not have worked, and no, it's not likely she would have killed them then or another time with another weapon. She was bipolar, unmedicated, and enraged.

This is the Republican dream for America.

The wheels of justice turned, however:

"It was a family argument that turned into a shooting," Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told the Houston Chronicle. "But we're still trying to put the pieces together."

Cops then shot and killed Christy Sheats, who was holding a pistol and refused to drop it.
Cops were there to sort it out, thank goodness.

Yes but you have to see it was the two men who were the problem not the guns.

Now if it was me this would never happen because I would never be to angry, emotional, inebriated, sick, mentally ill, frightened to ever illegally shoot someone. I know this for a fact that nothing like that will ever happen to me until the day I die because I would be a responsible gun owner and therefore none of that could ever happen to me. /s

The biggest lie humans tell ourselves.
No one is rational. Some of us just have a better mask.

It is in that spirit of understanding that I came to side against the 2A.
That, and the daily consequences of America playing wild wild west.....
Good point. I usually bristle in the aftermath of violent crime when the media explains that the authorities are trying to determine a "motive." That's such a load of crap. Just saying that betrays insanity, they believe the lie that people are rational, even the ones who commit crimes that make you wonder what could possibly have _motivated_ them. 🙄 And, yeah, the 2A is a load of shit.

Here's your wild wild west gun toting yahoo:

Yes, that was one case where I really wish the shooter had not been killed by police. Because she never had a chance to reflect on what she had done, that she had murdered her own children, and just how wrong she was in everything she said about guns,. That was one case where it would have been better had she rotted in prison for the rest of her life thinking about all that.

No lie. However the thought of it is depressing.

Even the professionals can't carry a gun safely. A local LEO was on the way to a wedding and had placed his gun in the console, where his 3 year old son got it and fatally shot his 7 year old sister.
He was charged with manslaughter but acquitted due to a hung jury.

Indeed, we have to recognize what we are and our inner nature if we're ever gonna have a chance to tame ourselves.

You obviously live in a bubble. All of these examples will be dismissed as "lone nutjob, nothing you could do."

And don't forget, because you started taking your kids to the range when they were 3 years old, they have ultimate respect for guns and would never touch your loaded, unlocked gun sitting around the house/car/purse because you and thereby your family are responsible gun owners.

A knife wouldn’t work? Don’t be so sure.
