Its all about throwing so much shit at the wall right now so the Ukraine call is drowned out. Great example from this morning where GOP Rep. Andy Harris wants to talk about everything around the Ukraine call except the actual call itself. Link is audio only.

yeah, it was really annoying listening to that worm just spit out all the WH talking points about the call, and not the actual content of the call. In fact, outright lie about the content on air. That's what Andy did.

It's amazing that these people just continue to go to ground like this, somehow oblivious to the fact that they already leaked these scurrilous talking points to everyone else already, because they have such good brains. I want a journalist worth their salt to take Andy and other shits like him to task: "I understand that your comments here reflect, verbatim, the white-house issued talking points that are shown to be inaccurate in terms of the phone call, so I wonder if you have your own opinions on this issue or if you would to continue to support these false representations of the known phone call."

....these people know that the truth is now known; and much, much, much more will be known, right? Do they have no ability to see beyond even 10 minutes in a day? This self-sabotage is really quite illuminating.

Remember, there is nothing going on between Trump and Russia.

The Kremlin said on Monday that Washington would need Russian consent to publish transcripts of phone calls between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Well I don’t blame them for wanting to keep what they expected to be private well private
I think it’s possible something nefarious happened on them but I’m holding off judgement on that.
Not sure what Russia could do to enforce them being private, sort of a stupid thing to say.
Spy stuff is so complicated because I just had a thought maybe there is more stuff on those calls and this is Putin trying to cause more chaos by saying nothing happened and those calls need to be private so don’t look.

Sort of like this

Schiff impresses me as a level headed guy in this situation. He knows it's going to be involved and tense, but he'll stay the course. I'm basing this just on the little video and remarks I've seen on network news, but I'm pretty perceptive, folks.

lol, no they don't. Russia can go pound sand. Their country is not our country (despite what Trump acolytes desperately want to believe)

Trump's problem (a lot of it) is that he doesn't try to understand what's going on, he just tries to see things from the perspective of the people he's trying to keep on his side. That makes him pretty fucking stupid, and keeps him that way.

Yup, can you imagine being the guy who has to sit the President down and explain this shit to him with brief videos and simple pictures?
Can you imagine being Moscow Mitch being required to tell the President to shit the fuck up and know your advice won’t be followed.
Has to be so frustrating carrying water for the President.

This is Schiff's paraphrase of Trump for which Trump wants Schiff to be arrested for treason.

1) What Trump said: "I will say that we do a lot for Ukraine. We spend a lot of effort and a lot of time. Much more than the European countries are doing and they should be helping you more than they are."
What Schiff said: "We have been very good to your country, very good. No other country has done as much as we have."
2) What Trump said: "I wouldn't say that it's reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good but the United States has been very, very good to Ukraine."
What Schiff said: "But you know what? I don't see much reciprocity here."
3) What Trump said: "I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it."
What Schiff said: "I have a favor I want from you though."
4) What Trump said: "There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great."
What Schiff said: "I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent. Lots of it. ... I'm going to put you in touch with people, not just any people, I am going to put you in touch with the attorney general, my attorney general Bill Barr."
5) What Trump said: "I will have Mr. Giuliani give you a call, and I am also going to have Attorney General Barr call and we will get to the bottom of it."
What Schiff said: "I'm going to put you in touch with Rudy. You are going to love him. Trust me. You know what I'm asking. So I'm only going to say this a few more times. In a few more ways."

This is Schiff's paraphrase of Trump for which Trump wants Schiff to be arrested for treason.
And, I feel this should be emphasized, he explicitly stated both before and after that was wasn't giving an exact renditition of the call. ("In not so many words, this is the essence of what the President communicates.")

Honestly, it was still probably a bad idea on Schiff's part. What we gain in further exposing the president's detachment from sensibility we likely lose in the screeching of the right-wing media. But still.

In the latest in our ongoing educational demonstration entitled "how to be a dictator" Trump suggests that Schiff should be "arrested" for "treason" because he doesn't like how Schiff summarized his call with Zelensky. This is not a joke.

Next he'll want to arrest CNN for hyphen-gate. Like, the whole company.

Hey, well maybe if conservatives are going to expend much effort on arguing that someone's interpretation of what someone said is unfair and inaccurate and maybe even illegal, they might come around to admitting that Barr's grossly distorted assessment of Robert Mueller's report was inaccurate, unfair, and quite possibly illegal, and that maybe they should get around to reading the report for themselves instead of repeating the known fake summary as truth? ....any day now. Any day now...

The point is, that what Schiff said was a pretty accurate summary of what Trump said in the call. So far as the right wing media screeching over a democrat saying something that is slightly slanted, fuck them. How many times has Trump out and out lied? I'm past the point of giving a crap what their so-called news media says. The people who are watching made up their minds before this even started.

The real story here is Trump suggesting that Schiff be arrested over this. That is some hardcore banana republic shit right there. Here in the United States. Next to that, whatever minor peccadillo Schiff is guilty of, if even that, has literally zero importance.

It's hard to even measure the levels of bad faith argument that are coming from conservatives about this. Donald Trump and supporters of Donald Trump are pretending to be outraged that Schiff lied about the contents of the 'transcript'.
1) What Schiff said is pretty accurate and to the extent it isn't, well he was clear he was providing his own interpretation. The complaints about this are complete bullshit.
2) Trump lies about everything, in fact, Trump has even lied about the contents of the 'transcript'!

It's amazing what total contempt these clowns have for both themselves and for their audience that they are pretending to be mad that Schiff 'lied' about the 'transcript' while supporting one of the most prolific liars in history.

No arguments here. I posted Trump's tweet this morning. The accusations of treason are absolutely horrifying.

Yes, and not to belabor the point, the only thing that was arguably inaccurate in what Schiff said was the reference to Trump asking Zelensky to "make up dirt" on the Bidens. But given the fact that there has never even been an allegation that Hunter Biden engaged in any specific illegal act, let alone evidence, and Trump knew this when he spoke to Zelensky, in Trump's mind that is exactly what he was doing. It's barely even a stretch.

Trump just told the press in the oval that he's trying to find out who the whistleblower is.

I'm not sure if he knows that's actually illegal and itself would be another impeachable act.

I don't think "would be" is appropriate, because he just admitted to it. It is an impeachable act. As long as he "tries" only once, it's impeachable.

One doesn't have to succeed at the crime to be impeached. Nixon failed to obstruct, but he was going to be impeached for it.

We both know the answer. He has been advised but he didn’t pay attention to what the person giving the advice said. Plus he gives zero fucks.

Trump trying to identify a whistleblower -- someone want to argue how, if proven, that wouldn't be textbook obstruction?

I really wish he hadn't done that, but you put this in perspective quite nicely and he really did not exaggerate as much as I thought he did.

House Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Rudy to produce documents and communications regarding his actions relating to Ukraine.
