I struggle to understand why one of the most enduringly unpopular presidents of all time who won with one of the lowest vote percentages ever and who has almost no significant accomplishments is viewed by some people as a political savant.

The have extremely poor critical thinking skills. Basically when they see Trump says everything is great while standing in middle of a dumpster fire their poor critical thinking skills leads them down the path of thinking that it is so unlikely that he would say that while obviously in a dumpster fire that he must know something they don't. Their reasoning seems to be that no one would stand in middle of a dumpster fire and say everything is great! This is reinforced by a belief that since he is President he must be smart.

“It’s not an interference, they have information — I think I’d take it,” Trump said. “If I thought there was something wrong, I’d go maybe to the FBI — if I thought there was something wrong.”

“It’s called oppo research,” he added.

Stephanopoulos pointed out that FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress that a candidate should offer that kind of information to the agency, but Trump flatly rebuffed the notion: “The FBI director is wrong.”

“Give me a break,” Trump said, scoffing. “Life doesn’t work that way.”

We all got suckered lots of times thinking we could hold him accountable or he couldn't win the election, etc. We may all be being suckered right now. That's something we have in common. Maybe we could use it to connect to each other?
Perhaps, although I do think there's a difference between falling for obvious lies and not finding your desired outcome due to massive abuses of power or downright corruption.

Remember, if president Obama had done half of what Trump has done, Mitch McConnell would be stringing up the rope in the Whitehouse rose garden. And Trump would kick the chair out from under Obama.
How the replicants defend Donald Trump is shameful. No matter what the crime they all have excuses for why Trump did what he did.

Question to a republican senator, "if Donald Trump called and pressured any foreign leader to do something illegal wouldn't that be a crime by the president?". Answer, "depends on the color of the phone."

don't you care about what things say?

are you actually suggesting that person is the same as people?

do you believe that "people" refers to an individual human?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I interpret that as the people of the United States.

So sure it is plural. Duh.

There is a congressman from California who wonders if one of those conversations that trump moved to the highly classified server was perhaps one with Putin his last ally when it comes to election interference.

I think we definitely need to get these conversations reviewed by congress ASAP. More whistleblowers need to come forward.

Meh. So what? Soliciting campaign dirt from a foreign govt is a clear violation of US law. Trump knew it & did it anyway. It's totally unacceptable from any politician, let alone the POTUS.

I’m not doubting that. I’m just saying I’d like to know what MBS promised Trump in order not to lose that huge arms deal in jeopardy after the murder.

MBS probably didn't promise anything. Trump probably promised him he'd do his best to help this all blow over & how's it going with Jared? Tell me about all the wonderful deals! Oh, and don't worry about us selling you more ordnance & hardware to fight those nasty Houthis. We're here for you!

Cool.

So no individual has a personal right to own a gun. I agree with you.

I'm quite shocked that you would come around to this conclusion. Shocked, really.

Your interpretive skills suck.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people ( as in all of us, each and every one ) to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

You need to reread the Bill of rights amendments with respect to the way they used the word "people".

Firstly I'm not a "Gun Nutter".

I do support the 2A as written. I'm all for background checks and restrictions against some weapons and things like huge magazines and bump stocks etc...

And most of all I'm not "triggered".

What is pathetic is your need to come in and call me names and your feeble attempt at an insult. It's just sad.

Mind your own business. You're wrong anyway. They said people not state.

do you think the founding fathers thought it would be best for each person to start killing if they thought they were oppressed? That makes sense to you?

No, where did I ever say anything like that?

Or you could just admit you made it up just to try and insult me.
