i dont think it has anything to do with the crushed arm in the wheel. cyberdine systems probably backed up their data at a remote location so destroying the building had no effect. every company backs up data.

And every company tries to get rid of it. *cough* Enron *cough* ;)

Hmm... I'm still not getting my hopes up.

They should have stopped @ T2.

They should have started and stopped with T2

Both are still good films

Actually, I really don't like #1, #2 is ok. I'll watch it occasionally.

I didn't say great. ;)

You do sort of need #1 for #2 to work.

the terminator (arnold) is indeed a different terminator than the one in T2, though i think theyre the same model. (t800, i believe). Or something similiar, anyway. What i was wondering about was with arnold's "i have a neuralnet processor-- a thinking computaa" thing, why couldn't he figure out that small arms fire wasn't doing anything to the TX? Or the T1000 for that matter? you'd think there would be some sort of logic algorthym: i.e.

if(weapons.small != "effective")
{
largerweapon()
}

Well, whatever the Terminator they sent does will clearly affect them, so they won't know. Too many continuiums. :D

Yes....they didn't actually send the first one to kill John Conner. The terminator that went back just thought is was supposed to do that. In reality, it was supposed to get smashed, so the black dude in T2 could use it for research. He then invents the computer that will take over later.

The Terminator comes from a different future, a parallel world beyond ours. It's not our future.

I heard about that event, but i didnt think the movie was actually shown there. The director actually got up on stage and said "you are the first audience in the world to see this movie" so it wouldnt make sense if he was down in irvine the next before playing it...

The whole "they used his arm" thing doesn't fly with me. The whole point that they made in T2 was that they needed the chip to come up with the architecture for skynet. Anyone who knows anything about computers should know that you can't create a super computer if you only have a freakin mechnical arm. Thats like me handing you a cdrom drive and telling you to create a P4 out of it.

The backed up data thing kinda makes sense...except that companies in the early 90s weren't so meticulous about making backups and they may not have had all the data. Besides they killed Miles Dyson.

But the future paradox idea makes the most sense. The terminators would not have been sent back had the future been changed. The future is inevitable once its set.

camp pendelton is where i go for the 4th. exclusive to military and their families, so, it isnt crowded and they always have fun stuff like a radio station dj mixing there and games and such. its like the fair at the beach. only problem is the walk. if you park close to the freeway and have to lug stuff....

edit: back on topic, cant wait for this movie :D

Did Leno happen to say anything about visiting Camp Pendleton last night on his show? I fell asleep before i could catch it. I know he came down to visit right after the show taped, but i was wondering if they mentioned anything. Apparently Arnold was the guest on the show from what i heard.

Saw the movie. I enjoye it. Had some funny lines in it. Arnie doesn't say much. Me and a mate were joking they were giving out the scripts and handed everyone a file of papers. Then when it comes to arnie they give him a double sided piece of paper lol.

One thing that didn't fly with me was this. They said something about them being able to reprogramm his cpu. WTF? The cpu doesn't get reprogrammed its the software in memory that gets reprogrammed. Once the cpu is set it just is right? The cpu is built of gates and such calculates it using logic right?

I have not seen T3, but there was a piece of T2 that got cut out of the theatrical release. Where they (John and Sara Connor) did something to reprogram or unlock the CPU within the terminator.

Okay thanks.

But you can't reprogramm a cpu once its been made right?

Maybe they reprogrammed certain instruction sets. You know, like when Intel came out with "MMX" for the pentium that included "extra" instruction sets. Or perhaps they were referring to "reflashing" his BIOS memory, which may be where his basic instructions are. That way, he might still function similarly, but with a different purpose.
