I don't think she's hijacked anything. She'll fire up the 20% right wing fringe, but she won't get the nomination in the end. If she does, then the party is truly doomed anyway, so it doesn't really matter at that point.

President Sara Palin. Has a nice ring to it.
I like her, even though she's often through her fourth sentence before her brain has started. I don't think she has the ability to be the POTUS, but I don't think Obama does either. I do enjoy the misery she causes the left, she's kind of the republican Mikel Moore.

It would appear that Michael Moore is not only more intelligent than Palin, but also you (can't even google his name).

While MM's films are very slanted and not completely correct, you can at least tell that he has some intelligence. Palin is a complete fucking moron.

It's sad that the biggest reason why the right loves Palin is that the left hates her.

I don't think it's so much hate as entertaining. It's amazing that she can screw up so often and those on the right will just give her a pass.

I'm not talking about getting the nomination, but how many followers she has. She's the biggest celebrity in the Republican party. Doesn't that bother you?

I love how conservatives keep saying it's liberals keeping Palin in the news every time she says or does something stupid. Liberals aren't who put her on Fox News. Liberals aren't who made her endorsements carry weight in the recent elections. Liberals didn't make her the figurehead of the tea party. The only thing liberals have done is become sad that Palin has become the biggest member of the Republican party because it shows how a once respectable party that we disagreed with the politics of has now become a sad, pathetic group of intellectual underachievers that idolize this nitwit.

I think Sarah Palin is extremely ignorant, dishonest, ill-motivated and dangerous for our society, for a few things, but I think it's very possible this was an innocent misspeaking.

You get to talking 'North' attacked 'South', North this South that, and it's easy to say 'North' when you mean 'South'.

I have not and am appalled at the idea of looking at more of her speeches to see whether she got it right other times, but that would pretty much confirm the issue.

However, it is rage. She's hardly a comedian and you are probably hitting every newscast about her hoping to 'laugh' some more.

Sad part is our political system is designed for this now.

I am not pro-Palin, but her whole move to run for President brought the ilk of our country out in masses now.
 
She's been in the limelight by her own choosing for what, over two years now, and in that period of time she has acquired a track record which speaks to her lack of knowledge on world issues. Whether she misspoke or not, this incident is adding fuel to her notoriety as a ditz. Her tendencies have become apparent through well-documented repetition.

If the guy interviewing her didn't correct her in mid-speech, it seems likely she would have kept repeating the gaff. Ergo, it wouldn't have been so much as an isolated brain fart on her part. Instead, it'd be more like her being afflicted with chronic cranial gas, which is better than having an absolute vacuum up there, I guess.
