All she is is verbal slips. How do you continue to apologize for this stupidity.

Saying something stupid is one thing, having a verbal slip is another. Intent is key here. Bashing someone for something unintentional shows a level of desperation.

And the Palin craze reeks of desperation. There are multitudes of Palin threads on this board. All started by leftists. Why? The rightwingers here aren't even talking about her.

She's been propped up as a lightening rod by the right and you're falling for it. Congrats.

I'll stipulate anyone can have a verbal slip. You need a record of substance so it wil be overlooked at just a slip of the tongue.

Kobe missed jumpers every now and then, but it's still Kobe.

Can anybody produce an interview Sarah has given (not Fox cause hosts just lick her ass esp Hannity) where she projects knowledge on any domestic or foriegn political issue outside pre-scripted talking points?

This is usually accomplished by those annoying followup questions. I'm not a big fan of Bill O'Reilly but here he corners her on solutions for illegal immigration. Once the script is over she starts rambling and that Katir Couric look comes out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOwLBA7yN-I

Here is another O'Reilly interview (I know don't use Fox) but these are great examples where she tries to call up the talking points and it just falls flat. What the hell did that mean?? Trying to hard to get the word elite out.

Sarah's misspoken words rival Georges ism's. Someone should make a video with both of their idiocy's for the world to see.

Go read "Game Change" (described in the first post, and an excellent recent political history book-and I usually hate them) and tell me again if you are so certain this was just a verbal flub. If it was anyone but Palin I'd be certain it was a flub, with her I think it is just one more example of her certaintude and ironclad opinions on subjects that she doesn't even have a soundbite's bit of knowledge about.

Verbal slip up or not, everyone has heard this women speak many times about foreign policy and the fact remains, she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. She wins the hearts of some Americans through patriotism not through her knowledge of foreign policy....or politics in general.

Yeah, she's not the brightest light :D

I love these threads because sometimes dumb is funny. :D

Agreed, it's funny when Obama and Biden say things like this, and it's funny when Palin says them.

I like Palin, but she wasn't ready for prime time in 2008 and she ain't gettin' any better. Still better than Obama in '08, but in '12 Obama's had four years of OJT. If by some evil miracle she's the Pubby of choice in 2012 she'll be massacred.

If she runs, the right will vote for her (duh) but anyone in the middle will not necerallly vote for obama, they will jsut vote for not Palin.

I can not see how she can run a country. I want to move to Canada!

yes, I agree, if she becomes president she will not get anything done, she will never understand whats good for the country, increase our debts, our enemies will become stronger, she will just be a puppet and other politicians will actually be making the policies and running the country, she will never realize what the nation and its ppl really need... its a dreadful situation... I cant imaging having such a president... Oh, wait... never mind...

This thread reminds me of a girl in high school. She thought I was joking telling her France is in Europe. "France doesn't sound European!"

And yet you went out of your way to vote for her to put her close to the presidency:

I held my nose and voted for McCain only because of Palin, otherwise I would have voted for Barr. And I still like her. But president? Not in the near future anyway. I think she has some real maturing to do - not to mention realizing she can't get away with telling easily verifiable lies - no Republican can, with 90% of the media being liberals. (Liberal politicians can because the liberal media won't call them on it and the conservative media are going to say they're lying no matter what they say.) That she doesn't recognize this speaks volumes about her knowledge of American below Alaska. That she does it at all speaks poorly of her basic honesty. But I do still admire what she did in Alaska.

I include the full context to show you criticized her, though you voted for her.

(Nevermind your deluded parroting of how the right-wing media is left-wing, how the right can't get away with lies despite doing so constantly, and how the media ignores Democrats who lie, despite the media not only going after them strongly if they do, but going on a jihad over made-up 'lies' like with the 'Al Gore is a big liar' media myth.)

Exactly, but thank goodness that George W Bush isn't our president anymore. Eight years of exactly what DesiPower was talking about was far too much. Thank goodness we finally have a president who, while not doing everything perfect, is turning this country in the right direction.

You'd have a point IF Obama and/or Biden had been any better. A totally unprepared Vice-President is always better than a totally unprepared President.

Just for clarity who would you say was the last prepared newly incoming President?

Bush II was prepared, having served as a governor. Clinton, Carter, Bush I (veep), Reagan and LBJ would also qualify, having the requisite executive or White House experience to understand, and be prepared for, the role from day one.

Note that being prepared does not necessarily guarantee good job performance. One can thoroughly understand one's responsibilities and available tools and yet still prove utterly unable to effectively use them, or else be so far outside the mainstream that effectively using those tools soon renders one unable to effectively govern because one has alienated too many people and lost too much support. Similarly, one can be totally unprepared and yet grow into the job.

Obama and Biden were both far better. Obama, you can make a case about but not compared to Palin. Biden, you are just a nut.

George W. Bush prepaired
John F. Kennedy not prepaired.

Look what that got us.

Barack Obama not prepaired
John McCain not prepaired

I guess you sat out the 2008 elections

Admittedly Joe Biden can have a case of foot in mouth, but if I have to choose one person to send in to resolve a major international crisis Biden or Palin, guess who I pick?

Happens to the best of us. Just yesterday, I needed to take 17 North but ended up taking 17 south in NJ and spending 20min in traffic.

I don't think Palin is serious about politics. I think she's just in it for the money. If she wanted to become POTUS, she would have stayed on as governor and tried to do something noteworthy that she could show the voters instead of spending her time on talking tours to collect large fees.
