In your estimation, why is ordering a citizen who has not been involved in any illegal activity being ordered to leave an airport lawful, but telling you to gobble his knob is not?

Please refer me to the law which gave the cop the power to remove someone from the airport.

California is one of the broadest states for this type of law.

148. (a) (1) Every person who willfully resists, delays, or obstructs any public officer, peace officer, or an emergency medical technician, as defined in Division 2.5 (commencing with Section 1797) of the Health and Safety Code, in the discharge or attempt to discharge any duty of his or her office or employment, when no other punishment is prescribed, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not to exceed one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment.

Dude, you didn't even read what you just posted. Southwest Airline employees didn't allow him to board and since he was accused of being intoxicated it was trepassing to remain since being intoxicated is an offense in the SFO airport. The man's protestation that he wasn't drinking is irrelevant, he was asked to leave by the Southwest airline staff and thus the police were giving a completely lawful order.

He was not asked to leave by SW. He was told he would have to take a 5am flight. SW did not ask him to leave.

The cop was responding to a complaint. The man wasn't being allowed to board his plane. The police saw fit to remove him from the airport. Without knowing all the details, my guess is his behavior was suspect. He was probably a bit angry, who wouldn't be. In any event, he no longer had a reason to be there because he wasn't boarding a plane and was no longer a passenger.

You are a complete asshole, by the way.

You're being obtuse. Police asked him to leave the premises because he was intoxicated and once he didn't it was trespassing. Once again people with anti-police views are completely ignoring any information which is inconvenient to their agenda.

Do I really need to explain law 101 with you. I guess so. Probable cause is not proof of anything and probable cause is all they police need to arrest you. That's why the people they arrest are referred to as suspects. Stop being a dumbass.

Even if a cop says to you "Sir, can you please leave?" you should treat that as an order and not a question. Any reasonable person would and I can guarantee a judge would.

A lot of you on here scare the shit out of me. It is like you are bred to be subjugated. And it's people like you that are empaneled on these juries that give these cops the free reign to do this kind of bullshit.

From the video we saw, no matter what he said to the cop or the cop said to him prior to the arrest, the moment he turned around to walk away, there is no reason for the cop to tackle and arrest him. If there are any other facts that come out, then you can argue then, but to come to the defense of this cop based on this video is asinine.

Btw, if you know any cop who you can speak to candidly, ask them what happens to people who ask for their id's... Maybe, you'll change ur opinion of this incident then.

People who think they can do whatever they want, without question and without consequences are what baffle me.

People in here are making a beef with cops when their beef is with others, i.e. the people who write and pass the laws.
