Russia sanctions has just passed Congress. Will Trump sign?

Will Trump sign the sanctions bill?

Of course he will veto it. Unless there is some way to stop it getting to his desk (not sure but can the bill be held up in the senate?) because his GOP allies know he will veto it and won't want more obvious Russia collusion.


I mean seriously, almost everything Trump has done in his first 6 months has been in some way advantageous to Russia. It is pretty clear that they really really want to end the sanctions and help out Mr. Putin but the pesky media keeps complaining about it.
 
GOP congress is not going to override their god-emperor Trump. More likely they will find a way to stop the bill from getting to his desk. If not, he will just veto and they will say "oh well! We tried!" and go back to destroying healthcare.
 
Wow, that is a pretty intense bill. Especially the fact that any house member can force a vote. The fact that leadership agreed to it I think probably is the best indication of how they really feel about Trump.

I am sure this will pass with veto proof majorities, but I believe it still have to go to the President. If he vetos, then it'll go back to Congress for an override vote.
 
I have no idea but the implications sure are interesting. I think the best solution would be to offer Russia statehood. Time for Republicans to embrace comradery and make Russia a state, not an enemy. I mean, we will go to the ends of the earth and face all kinds of political heat to get their babies, why not go for the whole hog?
 
It doesn't "Pass" until Tuesday, there still is time for dirty tricks
I wouldn't expect any President D or R to sign any bill that removes power from their office.

This is a good idea, but you have it backwards. It is the US that has become a "state" of the Russian Federation. The red states are now Greater Abkhazia, a breakaway Russian-administrated part of the formerly sovereign United States of America.

It'll pass Congress by a veto proof majority, so Trump vetoing it would lead to a GOP civil war.

He'd still face impeachment if it came to that point. In the courts ruling with Nixon they stated you can't pardon a crime you were a participant in. Very well could be overruled by the court.

No, but I am assuming he has people around him who will pressure him to sign out.

Congress gave him a possible out, by adding sanctions against Iran and North Korea to the same bill, so he can claim that's why he's signing it, while complaining about the Russia part. The real reason will be that his lawyers and advisers tell him to do so, because of the ongoing investigation, and need to cooperate with Congress on major legislation.

Further sanctions against Iran aren't very bright. They'll just deal with the Europeans, the Chinese, the Indians & the Russians for what they want.

The only real bone of contention is their ballistic missile program, basically space technology. There's not much else to be done with it when you don't have nuclear weapons.
 
Whats the lesser of the two evils? Fire Mueller and face potential impeachment or let Mueller do his work and dig up aaaaall the skeletons hidden under trump tower. Yea I think he will be firing Mueller and team well before that bill reaches his desk. By monday or tuesday.

Iran is just a token. If you want to shake things up sanction China. They are the true source of all that is wrong in the world at the moment.

Putin is a patient man. I'm sure he understands Trump's situation. Donald in the White House is an asset that he hopes will bear fruit when the time is right. He's in it for the whole 4 years & beyond.

If we assume where there's a Nevada state sized amount of smoke there's a fire and there is collusion going on if the WH can't deliver sanction relief does that mean Russia begins leaking more damaging information?
