I am totally anti Putin (and Russia), but Trump's way to screw the situation is getting to my nerves, heck, he is making India being doubtful instead of fully pick a side, and the only opponent he cares, who is China, is unexpectly giving the weapons to impose their conditions to everyone, making a check mate to Trump and delivering a BIG moral defeat to the US people.
It does not help that Trump has bootlickers instead of smart people that can avoid this scenario. In any other administration, we wouldn't see that level of chaos compared to this one.

In exchange, Russia will "ceasefire"... but also be given full economic relief and support for their continued mass military build up.
So basically, give Russia MORE land for free. They tire of fighting for it. Also, give them a hand so they will be stronger than ever when they resume.
Europe needs to tell Trump to fuck off. Also, they might want to do something to win Turkey over.

This is a change in position by the Russians. Previously they wanted all four entire Oblasts that they partially occupy and have Ukraine demilitarized.
Now they want the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and Ukraine to withdraw out of those Oblasts. Big question remains what would happen to the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions they partially occupy? What security guarantees would Ukraine get.
The decision to accept this has to be Ukraine's because they have been paying in blood for Putin's Special Operation.

The only security garuntee is see somewhat working is allowing western corps to exploit Ukrainian resources in the east. An attack in the future would effectively be an attack on the west.
I know it sounds flimsy, and shitty. But there is just no way Ukraine joins NATO with the current power structure in Russia.

Yep, Europeans have already announced a pivot away from American weapons and defense tech. Canada too. Thanks to Putin's invasions, his views on treaty compliance, and especially the recent announcement that they aren't bound by anything for intermediate ranges, yeah, we're pretty much in a 21st century arms race now. Poland has already been working on this with France, I expect Germany and their Scandi cousins will probably do the same. There's a rumor the Sa'udi just up and bought one from Pakistan awhile back, maybe the Baltics should think about that.
