I think the multitude of Scandinavian volunteers that have been showing up since 2022 would beg to differ, regarding the fighting spirit of the Vikings anyway.

Still, small countries with modest populations shouldn't be acting like Vikings when navigating modern conflicts started by numerically superior aggressors.

Reminder, the Vikings loved slavery and were essentially a death cult. Seems more like Russian values to me. The West can be the Englishmen, filling them full of arrows when and where appropriate.
Multitude? Its hard to find numbers but the ones available doesnt really suggest anything overwhelming. Not anything remotely close to say NK's contribution to the front.

I didn't say it was overwhelming, I'm saying the Viking analogy doesn't work well. There are roughly 20k volunteers in Ukraine total. I'm unsure of the exact nationality break down, the numbers flucuate obviously from the trickle of new people and the attrition of dead and wounded. Some do the 6 months and go home. Some stay. I think it counts as a multitude, YMMV. Last I checked there was about 800 Swedes there. Roughly same from Finland, I think about half that from Norway. I don't remember any Baltic numbers, would have to research more.

So, you think those norcs volunteered? We're talking fighting spirit right? And you're comparing Foreign Legionnaires to the 21st century's Asian blend of slave and serf? I admit being brainwashed can help on the battlefield, I just don't think it compares to what we're seeing from the Ukrainians themselves, or from allies who personally elect to put their lives on hold, risk their lives for zero necessity. With agency comes truth. Not a lot of that on the NK side. Those guys have different priorities, like 3 meals a day, all the porn they can fap to, and conducting themselves in a way that doesn't land mom and pop in a gulag.

The AFU turned the Kursk area into a mass NK gravesite, just sayin. Putin ran through his initial supply of NK meat, had to ask for more. While they are usually better shots and have better physical conditioning then russki mobiki, they're still being used as meat. To my knowledge no NK unit has developed a reputation for top notch ass kickers. On the Legionnaire side we've seen battle hardened Columbians as well as French, American, British, Canadian, Finnish and Aussie ex-SF absolutely mop the floor with the Russians, for years. As Ukraine has been so keen to adopt Western tactics and NATO standards a lot of these people have proven to be invaluable sources of experience and training. Hard to quantify that kind of contribution but I assure you it has been substantial.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry says Sergey Lavrov will take part in the upcoming US–Russia summit in Alaska.

This probably means that Putin won't be in Alaska. When Putin said yes to a meeting with Trump, it was a meeting in favour of Putin. Trump even talked about swapping territory. A major win for Putin. Now with Zelenskyy, Trump and the Europeans having met and Trump drawing many red lines in public, it doesn't look so rosy for Putin. Putin can't afford any failures in the public sphere atm, so might not even turn up. If there isn't a good chance for a win, Putin will send his subordinates... or even subordinates of subordinates as shown in the Turkey meetings.

Just guessing ofcause :)
