Very possible! One of the potential reasons I've read is something along those lines - that due to poor maintenance and training budgets they might not be able to employ all their aircraft due to lack of working ones and qualified people to fly them. If so, what a colossal clusterfuck - did Putin not know?
I can see that for the ground war but as far as the air war goes from my understanding there's still no indication of a big increase in operational tempo for air forces. You would think they would be trying to correct this?

Well the Ukrainians appear to be shooting down an increasing number of Su-25s and other stuff the past couple days so maybe the Russians are indeed stepping things up but the country is also now brisling with MANPADs. So yea...hard to recover.

Turkey's stance has been confusing for a while now. On the one hand, Turkey and Russia are traditional adversaries, and clearly have conflicting interests in Syria. On the other hand, they are both run by wanna-be 'strongmen' with fascist impulses, and a desire to supress national minorities (Turkey having been supressing Kurdish desire for self-determination for a long time, plus occupying half of Cyprus), and maybe there's a certain kind of "professional courtesy" that kicks in when fascists deal with each other. Turkey did buy weapon systems from Russia not long ago. I guess they have a similar attitude to Western social liberalism also.
I've skimmed the video. Straight up out of a movie. Bodies dismembered, burned, tanks tops blown off, bodies literally all over the street. It's very gruesome.
And will be played over and over again in Russia to justify why the are fighting. Dumb comments are no help.

Yea, they need to get over this, not allowed to have fixed wing aircraft BS. Especially, since someone in the Air Force might have to risk their lives getting below 15OOO ft.
