Russia's primary weapon system in 2024 has a new counter system to neutralize it. Glide bombs might finally be coming to an end.

Twitter: They are reporting the first shooting down of a Russian KAB in the suburbs of Zaporizhzhia, — media, citing sources in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Is this their new laser-based weapon?

These graphics will blow you away!

In the 40s invading fascists had to worry about smoking cigars containing an explosive charge. I do love the classics. Just wish this had been done with a little more Mossad-esque attention and patience, but good to know it probably worked a few times. Big wad of semtex right next to your brain, yeah that'll do it. Maybe a test boot, not wearing them, would only cost Yuri his hands and vision idk. I do know that stuff like this will cause orcs to worry, doubt, and ultimately waste more time and national toilet paper when it comes to drones. Sounds good to me.

A couple of interesting bits from that other site...

The attack falloff is probably why there is talk of a 100k mobilisation inside of Russia. They know they are running out of men.

There is also talk about getting volunteers from the 18-25 aged men in Ukraine. This is an untapped resource until now. This is not a draft/mobilisation from what I understand.

This is a wonderful time to start ramping up pressure and rest put Russians on their heels, at least until they can fix their manpower issues. That attack dropoff is dramatic though.

Indeed. Morale seems to have dropped even further...

... and with the levels of Ukrainian remote lethality... you have to wonder why the Russians just didn't stay at home...

I wonder how close Russia is to collapse; they have no equipment left; they have to draft another 100,000 soldiers which will only last 3 months at current rate of lost; ...

The manpower isn't really the concern, ways to move humans, and ways to get lead downrange has been their problem. The kill count has started to go down a touch since the NK soldiers bounced, but AFVs, arty, and misc vehicles are way up. RU is struggling to get manpower to the front and the result is more hardware soaking fire instead of meat.

Russian refinery capacity is down by something like ~20% due to the Ukrainian long range drone campaign. This will continue. Oil and gas revenue accounts for around 30% of the Russian budget.

So no more armor and they're running out of civilian vehicles, an overall large drop in attacks and the remaining done with almost all infantry, along with a surge in Russians surrendering.

Sounds like the Russian army is beginning it's death throes. They've been drinking from puddles for awhile now, now resorting to using donkeys. Time to go into hiding Putin. Looks like you're not getting a buffer state or the lithium, cerium, titanium, etc found there.

Would be a hoot if Ukraine managed to win the war before Trump had a chance to throw them under the bus.

He appears to be occupied throwing the US govt, his own USMCA trade agreement, and Palestinians under the bus. Hopefully that keeps him distracted enough for Ukraine to grind out a powerful negotiating position vs. Russia.

Promising indicators, but we have been there before.
I'll believe that day is coming if/when Ukraine reclaims more than a few football fields at a time. Preferably a major city or two.

lol

The idea that Trump views Putin as weak now continues to gain traction with me.

Russia says U.S. relations are on brink of collapse, refuses to confirm Trump call claim

The Kremlin said Monday that U.S.-Russia relations were on the brink of collapse and refused to confirm whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken with President Donald Trump, despite Trump saying so Sunday.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told a media conference Monday that relations with Washington “are balancing on the brink of a breakup” and reiterated that the war in Ukraine would last until Kyiv drops its ambitions to join NATO and withdraws from the four regions occupied by Russian forces.

In remarks suggesting Moscow is maintaining its tough negotiating stance, Ryabkov said that “we simply imperatively need to get ... the new U.S. administration to understand and acknowledge that without resolving the problems that are the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine, it will not be possible to reach an agreement.”

"If they don't let us keep all the land we have stolen from them we won't stop."

Sounds like something Trump would get behind easily. Hell took days to suggest the cleansing of Gaza.

In 1.0 Trump viewed Putin as an equal or perhaps more than. It does not appear that's the case this time around. Zelensky is also working the other side of this at the same time dangling minerals and purchases of US energy/goods in front of him. I also suspect Trump's opinion of Zelensky before the war was low but since he's gutted out three years while Putin destroys his own economy and military that looks to have shifted.

Zelensky knows the game here. Trump is easy to butter up, like a cat and a laser pointer.

He is willing to shamelessly schmooze and flatter because he knows the survival of his country depends on it and that it is effective. Putin, for his part, just thinks Trump should give him what he wants for nothing. Historically not a great place to be if you really need something from him and he knows it.

Trump is transactional, and after this last election there are no legal means by which he can stay in office. Prior to November putin had leverage, now it seems he does not.

Wouldnt surprise me at all if he's discarded at this point.

Since turnabout is fair play I wanted to drop a little "Russia is on the verge of collapse, how this is bad for Trump" here:

I do wonder, like a cornered animal, what Russia is capable of here if Putin really sees the writing on the wall.

Over/under on us seeing the first post war nuclear bomb being detonated against Ukraine? If Putin has nothing to lose, does he try and salt the earth?

It's been made clear to him that everyone else will end him if he does, but if he needs to go out the victim to his abused countrymen, that's a pretty good way to do it.
