When it was announced it was also said those planes would be in Ukraine within the hour. Sounds like they literally handed over active squadrons. But I would bet that giant column of armor is being viewed through drone footage right now, those Turkish drones that Ukraine has been using are really effective.
Shame... it sounds like the Euro nations didn't have a spare bomber. Even a WWII set of bomber wings with a matching loadout could do wonders to the 3km of gear just sitting there... assuming that the Russian AA is asleep or neutralised first.

The insurgency part was what was going to make it costly for Putin to hold Ukraine, the fact that its already painfully costly before this stage... He cant win. Well he can win, but he cant keep it.
That and the fact that the sanctions will demolish him. He's made a historic blunder.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing if those well trained Polish pilots delivered the first load of ordinance directly to those Russian columns.

Other than pilots from a NATO country engaging the Russians over Ukrainian soil could easily be seen as an escalation...and bring the war to NATO.
Better to just deliver the planes...let the Ukrainians deliver the payloads.

NATO needs to stay the fuck out of this...unless Russia/Belarus decide to attack a NATO country. Sit on the sidelines, be prepared...do nothing unless they have to.

We are already overtly "in" this. Economic war has been declared. We are actively funneling tons of resources, arms, and supplies straight to the Ukrainian army.

This IS our fight.
The hundreds of thousands, if not millions of refugees fleeing into NATO makes this our fight.

Cities in eastern Ukraine need humanitarian supplies for millions of people. Russia is cutting them off and laying siege. A few weeks / months from now, that'll be a genocide. To save lives we must rapidly clear a path to eastern Ukraine, for food, water, fuel. And we must slaughter every single Russian standing in our way.

I think even yesterday I would've laughed at anyone making such a prediction but the events of the last 24 h have laid some glaring truths out for the world to see:
- Belarus going back on the nuclear non-proliferation agreement (or whatever it is) was one hell of a escalation.
- putin himself waving the nuke card is an act of absolute desperation.
- the extent to which European allies and the US included have ratcheted up sanctions and materiel support for Ukraine makes it ever more likely resistance will become more resolute, not less. Putin can't afford victory anymore, let alone defeat.

I cant see him succeeding given those events, nor can he afford to suffer the loss of face and reprisals of further escalation. Going the route of WMDs means sorties of US aircraft over the urals for targeted strikes or outright Armageddon.

Pulling back now and suffering the sanctions he has reaped upon Russia makes it implausible his cabal of oligarchs will countenance their loss of influence (to say nothing of the impact to their fortunes) on the world stage. Being a prince of a smoldering crater is not something they will tolerate. The business calculus is very clear here. First one to turn the knives inward will immediately gain political goodwill from Russian citizens and give the larger worldwide economic community a path to immediately revert sanctions as a carrot and foster rehabilitation into the worldwide financial system. That in and of itself will restore a significant chunk of the fortunes of the oligarchs, and lessen the burden on the citizenry.

I see literally no one in Russia that won't be better off with putin dead...save for maybe a handful of his closest asviswrs/confidants/cronies.

A nation of chess players must merely be waiting for their opening at this point.
I figure behind that poker face (chess?), Putin must be a very nervous man at the moment. I can't imagine him feeling secure anywhere, any time.

How will the world react if he drops a small atom? We prepared for that?
Russia might be the first to drop a nuclear weapon, but there is no need for them to be the last. Russia knows what lies down that road and is far more exposed.

NATO needs to stay the fuck out of this...unless Russia/Belarus decide to attack a NATO country. Sit on the sidelines, be prepared...do nothing unless they have to.
NATO needs to destroy every Russian military asset in Ukraine with direct military action.

Other than pilots from a NATO country engaging the Russians over Ukrainian soil could easily be seen as an escalation...and bring the war to NATO.
Better to just deliver the planes...let the Ukrainians deliver the payloads.
NATO should escalate by any means available.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this.
How...just....what?....
Just wow

Almost like the whole "Z" vs "V" markings were originally part of the exercises where each symbol represented an opposing side.
The winning team got sent into to invade Ukraine.
lol

If Putin can use little green men to invade Ukraine why can’t we rent some low cost but well equipped mercenaries to Ukraine?

Another peaceful Sunday afternoon.....NOT!
I saw this earlier today in a Twitter thread that was linked here, it had IIRC Olexander Scherba attribution. If I knew how to link that video specifically here, I would have.

Is that really in Kiev? The extent of the destruction astounds me. I wonder how that happened. I presume all those destroyed vehicles are Russian. I wish there was a translation to English provided, i.e. captions. That guy obviously had a lot to say, was very emotional.

It has been pointed out if you wanted to surrender without surrendering this would be a great way to do it.

Russia state news says these people are our friends, we went for help from our friends, and then we were captured. Do not know what happened!

ps: we survived the war!
Yeah, I had the same thought. Either they wanted to surrender or they honestly thought they were part of a training exercise.
