Figures. Apple was talking shit about oversized screens all those years. Now that they do it all of a sudden big screens are cool.

But I'm sure it will help sales.

Screen size is about about only gripe with the iPhone. 4 inches is the sweet spot for smartphones IMO. Oh, I forgot about Flash. I guess that makes it two.

The technology has gotten better over the years, the edges are more sensitive now, and it appears the phone will be the same size or even slightly smaller with the larger screen.

Here's a photoshop of how it ought to look:

Flash is overrated on smartphones.
For webpages, its not a deterrent.
And flash games are impossible on smartphones right now.

We need to move beyond flash. Force Adobe to give it up entirely or make something MUCH better.
Apple was trying to encourage that by no longer supporting Flash. I actually like that idea. Had Bill Gates jumped on board it coulda worked.

Maybe for you. Some people use and watch flash shows regularly.

I don't care about mobile gaming but I'm probably in the minority. But I still care about what type of GPU is on my phone.

Have you seriously tried to watch a flash 'movie' on a phone? Its horrible! Even browsing a flash only site is horrid. I gave up on it and uninstalled it. No one wants to bother making flash for mobile devices when you can do it otherways and make it more accessible to more devices.

Show me where flash is useful on smartphones right now.
Every report I've seen showed that flash kills Android performance.
I'm not dissing flash. I just think flash is not useful in smartphones right now.

My wife watches K dramas and variety shows everyday using her phone. It's more than watchable and definitely not horrible. I used it to watch live sports on my phone and it's fine and very convenient. Both of us enjoy watching videos on our phone. 4" s-amoled screen is great for watching videos. With my headphone I have zero problem watching 2-3 hour long movies.

If you dont use it, then it's not important to you. I feel same about mobile phone gaming but some people love it. Flash is important to people who use it. It's obvious you dont care about flash since you dont use it on your phone and use Mac laptop.

I can literally watch my battery meter head south when I have a Flash movie playing...

I have Flash set to on demand, and I never enable it...

Flash is great for watching non youtube video. I disable it to avoid flash ads and enable it when there's a video I want to watch that isn't on youtube. Works like a charm.

Who needs flash when most of the flash sites have their own iOS apps?!
I'm loyal to Apple for now ONLY because of that reason, sites like Break and Justin.tv and stuff all have their own apps, no need to go through their bloated websites.

I don't need a report to tell me how Flash performs, I watched a few shows using flash on my Captivate the other day and it worked fine.

Oh my goodness guys! A rumor about the next iPhone! Quick, we better discuss it!

Um, it's the most popular smartphone in the world, hope you don't mind if we use the forum for discussing the next model.

If it bothers you so much, perhaps you can avoid clicking on the thread, you know, the one titled

Rumour: Iphone 5 with a 4" screen.....

I can see how you might consider this a thread on Android fragmentation, oh wait....

Finally, a competitor to 4.3" SAMOLED+

;)

If my Droid X has a SAMOLED+ (I'm assuming that's the stuff that doesn't use Pentile, Pentile annoys the hell out of me), it would be almost perfect. An unlocked bootloader would be nice too,but it's been working out fine.

But the perfect phone would be Droid X Body, 4.3"(or even 4.5", even 4.3" is too small sometimes I feel) SAMOLED+, and a Tegra 2 with unlocked bootloader. If they made this phone, TAKE ALL MY MONEY.

As long as it still fits in my breast pocket well, I don't care what size the screen is :p.

Apple always does stuff like that. They say they'll never do it cus it either makes no sense cus consumers don't want it or they don't like it but in the end they always do.

Anyways Flash is still useful. We've even had posters here say that they've tried to look at restaurant menu's and they've been only in Flash. It's not like having Flash is a bad thing. You can turn it off whenever you want. There is zero negative to having Flash on a phone. If you get to a site that needs it then you're assed out. You can turn it off whenever you want. It's like someone saying Apps are overrated on phones. You may not like it but being given all these extra options is better for the consumers.

Having more options and the ability to actually surf the whole internet is better than not being given the option.
