If my Droid X has a SAMOLED+ (I'm assuming that's the stuff that doesn't use Pentile, Pentile annoys the hell out of me), it would be almost perfect. An unlocked bootloader would be nice too,but it's been working out fine.

But the perfect phone would be Droid X Body, 4.3"(or even 4.5", even 4.3" is too small sometimes I feel) SAMOLED+, and a Tegra 2 with unlocked bootloader. If they made this phone, TAKE ALL MY MONEY.

The Motorola Droid series of phones have the best screens for color reproduction. iPhone screens have always undersaturated as much as AMOLED's have oversaturated. The Droid's though just need better viewing angles and higher rez.

Apple always does stuff like that. They say they'll never do it cus it either makes no sense cus consumers don't want it or they don't like it but in the end they always do.

Anyways Flash is still useful. We've even had posters here say that they've tried to look at restaurant menu's and they've been only in Flash. It's not like having Flash is a bad thing. You can turn it off whenever you want. There is zero negative to having Flash on a phone. If you get to a site that needs it then you're assed out. You can turn it off whenever you want. It's like someone saying Apps are overrated on phones. You may not like it but being given all these extra options is better for the consumers.

Having more options and the ability to actually surf the whole internet is better than not being given the option.

Well, you're right.
Having the option is better than not having the option.
I just haven't ran across a situation where I had to have flash on my smartphone yet.

I've only ever used Flashed five on my phone and that's fine if people don't care to have it but I'm glad it's there so if I run into the situation that I do need it, I have it there. I'm just glad it's going away. Adobe has had the monopoly for too long.

If you watch flash anything on your phone then you need a life seriously.. Flash is so damn overrated, its a cell phone not a laptop. I'm in the minority probably but I think anything over 3.5 inches screen wise just leads to phones that are too big.

I like my phone to fit in my pocket not in a damn back pack

You need to stop wearing skinny jeans. 4.3 inches isn't gigantic. It fits comfortably into any pocket.

I've used flash quite alot. A lot of sites still use 100% flash, so its nice to be able to use them when I need to access their sites on the go

HTC HD2 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm

Motorola Atrix 117.75 x 63.50 x 10.95 mm

iPhone 4 115.2 x 58.66 x 9.3 mm

4"+ is so much bigger!!!

4" screen with the rez the iPhone already has on it would seriously be great.

Apple has never said what screen size was too big nor do we know what screen size the iPhone5 is going to be.

At the time of their statement the largest screen size phone is 4.3" and according to speculation this iPhone5 is a 4" phone, which still makes Apple's claim about "big phones" still true.

If the iPhone 5 does end up being a big 4.3" phone, then Apple was wrong with their claims of big phones, but we don't know have any of that information of the next iPhone to make such assumptions

of course its a sin for Apple to say one thing and backtrack. because all it is is steve's one sentence and slide in an Apple media event.

but when verizon spends millions making fun of the iPhone only to get it in the end, that's perfectly fine.

But seriously, if there is more behind this 4" rumor, I might really have to wait for the iPhone 5. To be honest, I didnt have much faith on the iPhone 5 because it seemed like only small updates were in order. NFC isn't that big of a deal to me, but this is big. I had really hoped that I could just grab an SGS 2 when it hit the online stores, but I might have to wait another 3 months at this rate!

If you really need Flash all that badly just jailbreak and install Frash. One of my friends has it on his iPhone. Yeah it's not native and you have to jailbreak, but with all of the crapware coming out on half of the new Android phones that can't be removed you end up in the same boat.

Anyhow the rumored move to the bigger screen makes sense if you consider the other rumor about Apple producing a cheaper version of the iPhone that would probably be sold without a plan in developing markets. That device would probably keep the smaller 3.5" screen and have other features stripped to lower the cost.

Is this only a rumor , or is it fact? I thought that the 4 inch screen and slideout keyboard were both confirmed, but maybe I was mistaken. Those are both features that make me consider the iphone when I was pretty set on a droid before.

It's never fact until it's on Apple's webpage.

That said when pictures of hardware surface those "rumors" turn out to be quite valid. It happened with the iphone 4 and now that we see what could be a new digitizer it makes it more believable.

The slide out keyboard though sounds like just a wild rumor somebody started. I haven't even heard of that one yet, and I doubt there's any proof.

Somewhat unrelated, but still on the general topic of Apple and their improvements:

Case in point, the iPad.. took them until version 2.0 to include a front camera, or until the iPhone 4 to add an LED flash to the camera.

"Here's your brand-new, greatest-thing-since-sliced-bread Apple product... but we're withholding some features for the next version so you'll have to buy it."

Yep, it's pretty likely iP5 will have a 4" screen, the chances of a slider keyboard are likely 0%

There are several aftermarket solutions the the keyboard though, if you have to have one. I do like the virtual keyboard on Apple products the best though, they're very good.

I've seen a couple of fairly slim bluetooth keyboards that attach to the phone, turning into a slider. If you're into that sort of thing a few seem to be a good option... but of course you have to keep that charged too and then you're left without a case (something I will never be without).

Could you link me to one of these? I'm interested in seeing what it looks like.

I can't remember any specific ones, and I'm just going to google "iphone bluetooth keyboard" so to save a step I'll just have you do it. :D

My laziness hates you. :p

It's pretty neat, though I can't really think of a use for it. Now if say an RDP app was able to support and fully utilize a bluetooth mouse, then this might interest me.

There's tons of people out there who for some reason HAVE to have a hardware keyboard. Those people normally looked at the Droid and other variants. These bluetooth keyboards just make the iphone a valid option for them again, though obviously with a few drawbacks as the iphone wasn't designed specifically for it and it has its own battery. Still... the market is there.

Thats pretty much how I see it. I'll admit Apple makes quality products, but they come at a high premium and their business whole model is set up around making people buy your product before it even exists. From a consumer standpoint they are a huge lose.

Of course, if I were too look for some stocks to buy........

What would be nice is if Apple gave people a choice in form factors. I don't get the '1 phone fits all' philosophy. Give people a choice.

Why do you even come into threads about apple products?

Everyone on this forum knows your opinion on apple. Every compliment you hand out about them comes with a backhanded slap. Just leave these threads, you never provide anything beneficial in any of them.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. They still haven't even figured out how to offer it in 2 different colors, let alone different form factors entirely. We're lucky we get a capacity choice.
