Romney lost because...

lulz. Damn your posts are shitty. Newt? GTFO.

Look at it this way. We had a guy run that flip-flopped on just about every issue, insulted 47% of America, then went after women, hid his taxes, had offshore accounts, and he still made it a close race. If you don't think Newt would have been able to clean Obama's clock you are out of your mind.

It wasn't a close race.

Mr Romney lost because the Republicans alienated Latino and women voters. The Republicans thinking he lost because he was not conservative enough and a real conservative would have won more votes from these groups is a serious case of delusional dogma which will doom the GOP to being a regional southern party in 20 years.

Romney lost because like the republican party, he has an identity crisis. Neither conservative or liberal but managing to insult and ostracize huge swaths of the population.

Reps are going to self destruct if all they do is continue to pander to the lowest common denominator fox news watchers.

Romney lost because he had no message(probably related to a bit of messaging problem in the Republican Party of late) and no personal charisma.

No!! Romney lost due his constant flip flopping.
Romney also lost because a majority of Americans believe that women should have the right to an abortion....we could call this a womens rights issue...
Also we have the gay issue.....it`s not going away! Lagailize it and be done with it!

Until the republican party can deal with the religious right and back totally pout of religious issues and influence they will lose the presidential elections.....

+1 exactly what happened.

don't forget gays, non-christians, all minorities, the youth, the working poor....and everyone with a pre-existing medical condition. 😀

The Republicans need to simply have a caucus meeting and boot out the extreme players. Let them form their own caucus.

They can't win with complete crazy people on their side saying stupid stuff all the time. Even worse they really can't win if their primaries are such a circus of crazy people. They need to get the insane people out. Evangelical? You're out. Against homosexuals? You're out. Against women's rights? You're out. Against minorities? You're out. I just know if there would be enough left.

haha yup.. you cannot in this day and age run an election in a free religion country based on beliefs of your church.

A LARGE amount of people are not Christians anymore people have to remember this is the melting pot. and times have changed. most young people are not buying into the older beliefs of the older church people.

You mean SINGLE women. Married women vote Republican.

Take your head out of your ass. Romney was the only person in the field who could have come clost to Obama. He was th eonly one who could have moved to the center where THE REST OF THE NATION IS. He lost not because he was too centrist, he lost because the Republicans were too crazy.

So who is not crazy?

The only women's rights that Republican's are against is abortion. Last I check putting a "s" at the end of a word made it plural.

Romney lost because he's to openly a state socialist and he's a Mormon. Mormons have a very tried history with the USA. Romney is a snake and unpersonable, Herman Cain would have won

exactly.. the entire field the Rebups fielded were all wackos.. Sorry but this isnt 1955 anymore and times have changed. time to get with the program.. Women, gays, and other "minorities" are not going away.. if you don't embrace them and forget about religion and work on crap that matters instead of this religious driven BS of Pro Life and anti gay marriage you will NEVER succeed. those are things that have NO PLACE in the government.. let the churches teach and educate their members that way.. but you cannot regulate and create laws around that kind of stuff.

True, but that's actually a symptom and not the underlying problem.

The underlying problem is that the Republican Party is too right-wing. Romney's fraudulence was an attempt to balance the extremism of the GOP with the need to try to win people in the center.

It's not going to get any better for them until they recognize this. They will either end up with moderates that disillusion the base, or "extreme conservatives" who are unelectable, or phonies like Romney who try to be both and get seen through.

Agree, though more specifically, their primary process is too heavily dominated by right wing extremists. Potentially good candidates are either rejected outright, or have to lie their asses off during the primary campaign to pander to the nutter fringe ... which then makes them damaged goods in the actual election. The Republican party needs a good enema to flush those fringe elements out of the party, or at least out of positions of influence. Until they do, I think they're going to struggle to remain relevant.

The above is really the full explanation.

Last I checked Republicans were against planned parenthood and they do a lot more than just abortions.

I don't know who is not crazy. I have always voted republican and this time around I didn't vote for a single one.

Hard to get a message out when people in your Party weekly say something stupid about rape. And you have to deal with those comments for weeks at a time. It was the extreme social conservatives that cost Romney the election. If he did not go so far right during the primaries and those GOP idiots would of kept their mouths shut I think Romney wins. Romney was way right of the main stream views of this country. Even if majority are pro-life they are still for abortion in the cases or rape, incest, mothers life and many if child has a major birth defect.
