Romney lost because he was a SHITTY candidate. The man has a core made of Jello.

Let this be a lesson - elect someone who actually believes in something.

Kind of depends on what they believe in I would think. Anointing then electing George "I believe I'll snort another line of coke off a hooker's ass" Bush Jr didn't work out so well.
 
Romney lost because he had too much too hide and too much to run from. Both he and Ryan were already clearly identified as threats to every social assistance program the gov't now operates, so when both of them backpedaled on their far right stance concerning gov't programs, it didn't stick. Romney pretty much screwed himself having to brand himself as a staunch defender of an isolationist far right agenda in the primaries and Ryan, well, his abandonment of the middle class, the minorities and the poor in his now infamous budget proposal had him dodging bullets the moment he accepted running mate status.

Bottom line: Romney/Ryan couldn't fool the independents and the undecideds into thinking that the far right ideology each had to carry around like a ball and chain was open to compromise. Both lived and died by the Tea Party sharpened swords they wielded.

Obama has to thank the Tea Party for his win. lol

Because he wasn't the mormon indicated in the prophesy who will save America during a constitutional crisis.

This is the case of citizens united fucking over Republicans... I've heard people say that if Romney wasn't the the Republican nominee they wouldn't have voted for Obama.

Blame the fact that Governor Romney was able to buy the nomination over others like Rep. Gingrinch, Gov. Perry, or Rep. Bachman.
 
I voted for Obama not because I thought Romney would not be able to lead the country better than Obama but rather because of the kind of voters that supported Romney. The crazies on the far right scared me so much that if Jesus came alive again to run as their candidate I would have to vote against him too.

Nate silver didn't do a thing.

The polls were right, that's all it boils down to. His model assumed the polls were right and they were. The internals had some very wrong data in them however.
