Georgia anti-abortion law allows tax deductions for fetuses
Pregnant women in the U.S. state of Georgia will be able to deduct their fetuses as dependents on their taxes under a 2019 anti-abortion law that a judge allowed to go into effect last month, the state said.
I'm a bit confused by your comment. The heart is just a pump, this is how it forms. IIRC, some simple creatures never get past the first stage.

A number of people said criminalization of abortion was alarmist nonsense. Also states will intrude on the privacy of anybody they even suspect might have had or aided an abortion.

It's not a heartbeat. When people think of hearts they think of the muscle that we have. The heartbeat sound does not even exist in a fetus at that age, It's just a loose group of electrical cells firing and the machine makes a fake heartbeat noise in sync with them.
If you can't understand how misleading that is then I don't know what to tell you.

Basically as expected making abortion illegal didn't eliminate the practice, it's simply driven it underground.

Here’s the thing and I am not anti-choice.
The voters do not appear to be all fired up about this. Couple of months ago yes, as of now it appears that has passed. Far, far, far too much political capital has been spent on this over the decades. Time to start evaluating if it is worth it to continue spending capital on it.

Abortion is a thing to talk to voters about, it is not the ONLY thing to talk to voters about. It's probably the reason the Republicans are forecast to only have a good election instead of a great one when historical trends favor the latter.

We will see as of polling I heard last night the abortion issue rates very low among people who regularly vote.

When you think about who votes most regularly it is less strange.
And thats where the gap in turnout lies...people who regularly vote are the baseline. The effect is going to be seen in new voters and low-propensity voters, and we'll see if voter models accurately account for them.
Georgia Governor Kemp apparently favors making it illegal to destroy stored embryos, thereby forcing the would be parent(s) to pay to indefinitely store the embryos or otherwise donate or sell them to someone who wishes to have a child. The insanity of government officials wanting to completely control reproductive rights in the USA apparently has no end.

I agree, the question that the polls are not really answering is will this issue get people that don't normally vote out? It honestly does not look like it.
It is pretty much what I predicated would happen, and what I'm sure the GOP was counting on. People can only stay outraged for so long. Then they see a TikTok video of a cat driving a tractor or something and forget that they actually need to do something about what they were just outraged at. Instead they retweet memes on facebook about how outraged they are, feel good that they did something, and then having felt like they did their part they don't feel any need to vote when the times comes. All politicians are the same anyway, right? So it doesn't matter.

Here’s hoping Dems do pick up 2 senate seats to abolish the filibuster. Here’s hoping they maintain the razor thin house majority. Biden will get his bill to codify abortion at the federal level. He will ban assault rifles. Fix voting issues. Once MAGAtards heads explode, arrest all of them and any enablers in government when they attempt to overthrow the legally elected government. And 2024 will be orange monkey free.

We’re a few weeks away, we will see.
Simply put Ive heard this for decades X or Y group will have a HUGE turnout and change everything. Then polling doesn’t support that and next they simply don’t show up to vote, which is what I predict will happen.

Yup. These clowns got used to passing insane legislation like this because it never mattered before. Now it does and they don't know how to stop.
