The thing is, you can't just opt to get your tubes tied. You may luck out and get someone who will just do it, but that's definitely not a universal experience.

In the USA, absolutely. The hospital system may choose to disallow it, especially if they're religiously-based (as many hospital systems here are), and even if not, the doctor may still opt to not perform it because the patient is childless, only has 1 child, or is "too young".

There's lots of women that are psychotically mad that other women can have babies. No joke, that was the reason one of my high school teachers was insanely anti-abortion. She couldn't have kids of her own so he felt like every other woman should be forced to.

They are susceptible to lies and propaganda as well.

Come to think of it, why don't embryos have to pay taxes? All that amniotic fluid they are getting surely counts as income? Or maybe they should be obliged to establish a proper contractual, market-based relationship with the mother, including being free to find a cheaper gestation services elsewhere?

Perhaps that's mixing up two different flavours of right-wing crazy?

I mean, they're benefiting from the mother's health care. That sounds like fraud at minimum, possibly identity theft or forced medical procedures.
 
Once you start treating the foetus as a citizen the possibilities seem endless.

I mean, how about mounting a rescue mission? They're trapped inside the mother's body! Maybe Musk could offer his submarine to go in there and get them out?
