Do you need to stop at all at these special kinds of dedicated right turn lanes(NOT YOUR AVERAGE RIGHT TURN ONLY LANE).

I could see the argument that you need to stop in case of pedestrians since there is a crosswalk. However, I have witnessed a cop drive right through quite quickly on a red. But then again, it doesn't seem safe to assume that cops are always abiding by the law.

Of course you need to stop if there's a crosswalk there and it looks like there is.. It's a red light unless it says yield.

In every state in which I have lived, you have to stop before proceeding unless specifically marked or sporting a right hand turn lane with Yield sign.

Yes you have to stop. If your light is red, someone else's light is green. You must yield to them. Fucking moron.

This. It's a right turn, you yield to ANY oncoming traffic. Geez, I wish some of you people had your licenses taken away from you.

astroidea drives a yellow Mitsubishi riceburner with tinted brake lights. And he's Asian. His ignorance should come as no surprise.

lolol did you even see the google maps link? There's no one to yield to except possible pedestrians.
Logic dictates that you should need to stop, but no one stops there for a red, not even cops, hence this thread.

SO FUCK OFF YOU GAPPED TEETH CUM GUZZLING COUSIN FUCKER.

OP is correct, the rest of you are wrong.

The right turn lane is often called a right slip lane because motorists are not expected to come to a complete stop at the intersection. Right slip lanes are designed to improve traffic flow by minimizing the drivers need to stop at an intersection; therefore, driver speeds through the crosswalk tend to increase.

Just because it opens a new right lane that immediately-entering traffic wouldn't be in doesn't change anything. The following right lane isn't a center lane where you can just stop and yield from, and the Google Maps link clearly shows it merging a few hundred feet ahead.

OP is correct, the rest of you are wrong.

Just look at the fucking diagram you posted you fucking moron. There may be no pedestrian worries, but clearly if you just drive into the perpendicular street on a red light without checking traffic, you have a decent chance of getting into an accident.

EDIT: Ok, I take it back, I'm the fucking moron. I somehow interpreted astroidea's "stop" as "yield".

Everybody is too hostile tonight. We all need to chill out and reflect on life's beauty. I'm reposting this so we can learn to appreciate the gifts we have.

Is the intersection marked with a Yield sign or other indication that a full stop is not required on red when making a right turn?

If theres an island separating the right turn lane from the rest of the lanes it is automatically yield only for right turns.

Not in any place I've lived. Under those circumstances there has been either a yield sign or a separate stop sign/light to the right of the right turn lane providing direction.

I don't think I've ever met a person that actually stops on those. They may yield (which could require stopping), but certainly not stop outright regardless of oncoming traffic.

OP is correct, imo. There doesn't even appear to be a traffic light for that right turn lane. You aren't making a right on red.

BTW, I'm not even correct on anything because I never even made a fucking claim to begin with before all of you guys jumped on me. I just merely asked a question because I wasn't sure.

In the OP's case there is a merge lane on the street being entered. This is different than the general situation described in the OP. Also note the pedestrian crossing. Regardless of any traffic signal, drivers would be required to yield to pedestrians in the cross walk.

Most turns like that, here have a "Continuous right turn with caution" sign, followed by a yield sign.

Simple enough to understand.

That's what I said. You would only stop to yield. Normally, you would not need to stop. This is not a right on red.
