You aren't understanding the problem. Matter cannot be created or destroyed and only certain chemical conversions are possible without fusion.
You need to read the book.

"Are" you sure ABOUT that?. I'd be convinced if I saw a clip of that scene."Impression?!" They spelled it out and DISCUSSED IT in no uncertain terms.
I find the outrage over the auto Doc to be the silly.

no... it would have to be something like atmospheric chemotrophism. Pretty difficult (borderline impossible) to do, especially in that short of a time frame, and without a massive (megawatts) power source.
My theory:
Predators were pwning the engineers. To combat the predators, the engineers genetically "engineered" (lol) the aliens to combat the predators. They needed hosts to grow the aliens, thus planting earth with humans. Their experiment goes out of control before they ever reach earth to cultivate aliens

A question for those who disliked Prometheus: What are, in your opinions, the best sci-fi movies of the last 5 years?
So then, we can ALL AGREE, Prometheus is the most disappointing movie of the last 20 years, and one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made.

No, it was a failed attempt at a good thought-provoking sci-fi mixed with a would-be successful attempt at an atmospheric horror. So then, we can ALL AGREE, Prometheus is the most disappointing movie of the last 20 years, and one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made.

I enjoyed it more than Avatar, and obviously better than the new shitty star wars.

fact. It's not even the worst in the Alien universe, let alone one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made.

There haven't been a lot of good ones. WALL-E, Moon, Inception are all I can think of. Prometheus would not be on the list for me.
The 5 years preceding that had a plethora of amazing science fiction.
Wow... I'm not going to call you stupid:It's a difference of opinion. I liked WALL-E (but do not consider it Scifi at all), and Moon, but hated Inception.
Wow... I'm not going to call you stupid:
But I am going inform you that you made two statements that make you look stupid. The first being your factually incorrect statement about wall-e, the second being that (without further support) you hated a movie that is hated, mostly, by people with particularly little ability to reason cognitively.
If you've got an interesting exegesis of either scrip to support what you say you will stop looking stupid (and be quite an asset to the conversation that's evolved in this thread surrounding sci-fi); otherwise you's just trolln'.
No. You said cellular fusion. Which means combining two cells to make one cell.Isn't that what I said?![]()
And that would require temperatures in the gazillions, and render the aliens extremely radioactive and no way could they be a DNA based life form.To convert atmospheric compounds into solid matter, it would either need to filter/process suspended solids at the speed of a jet engine (certainly not happening) or it would need to convert matter (fusion). When I say "cellular fusion," I don't mean the term "cell fusion." I mean nuclear fusion on a cellular level. Fusion *IS* a "massive power source."
I said someone should support their factually incorrect point and you disagree with the request; Glad to have a well thought-out counter point ;-).my god this is a stupid post
Or not enough? You know, we're really thinking about this too much.
