I don't see the big deal, neither Rev. Sharpton nor a few players complaining will diminish or improve the chance of Dave Checketts and Rush Limbaugh buying the team. Currently they are one of six ownership groups trying to buy the team or a majority stake in the team. This has more to do with money and the other NFL owners, which I doubt care much about Sharptons letter. It's a simple case of finding the right suitor for the team and approval by the NFL and the owners. Players may protest and cry but they all play and want the money. If the money is there even Bart Scott would be dancing to the bank( though he already did that with the Jets during the offseason). Whoever does buy the rams, well they need to overhaul the team.

Actions have consequences. If the NFL selects Rush as an owner, don't be suprised by a huge boycott of the NFL. The NFL doesn't like controversy, so I expect that they will reject Rush as an owner-too much baggage.

Stephen A. Smith actually had interesting commentary on this. He basically said that nobody is going to walk out on a multimillion dollar contract because they don't like the owner. It's a business and all about the $$$. If Rush does get a team, in reality, nothing will be any different, except for the media-created hype and spin.
