Didn't the left get the memo? The majority of Americans in poll after poll consider themselves right of center. All these proclamations, hopes and wishes here make an incorrect assumption that the majority think just like you - they don't.

The majority of Americans could care less if Rush owns an NFL team and the Reverend Al has justified their feelings. It's been slow for him with a black man in the White House and I'm sure he's anxious to stir something up. All he's succeeded in doing at this point is give a bunch of football players the idea that he feels they can't think for themselves.

I'd be very curious to know, if the headline were instead "Rush Limbaugh seeks to own a Nascar racing team", if there would any out-cry from these very same people upset over Limbaugh pursuing ownership of the Rams

Well the Ascended have determined that Rush will harm the NFL more than anything else. Being all knowing, it must be true :p

The hubris of these people is astounding.

Rush could possibly have a foothold on counseling players who have a pill popping problem ;)

Obviously, you aren't actually from Marin County, California, or you would realize that you're practically describing Al Davis.

Conservatives who cheer Limbaugh owning an NFL team probably cheered Marge Schott owning the Reds

As Stephen Smith said, "I think it's a bunch of crap that [the players] are sitting there talking about that is something they wouldn't do. I don't believe them. It?s just walking hypocrisy as far as I'm concerned. There is no way on Earth you can tell me that if Rush Limbaugh had $20 million to give you as an NFL player, but someone else on one of those 31 teams in the NFL only had $10 million to offer you that you gonna pass up that additional $10 million. Let people believe you are Boo-Boo the Fool all you want to, I'm not going to get caught up in that game. I don't believe a single word coming out of their mouth when they say that."

so you guys would ban a guy from owning a team because of something he said? yeah fuck that.

If you don't like him boycut the team. easy as that. but to say he can't own the team because of a racist comment is kinda ironic.

Players/Fans are exercising their opinions, what's wrong with that? Is someone drafting legislation to block limbaugh from owning the team?

The league/owners will vote on it, and if they block him from owning a team, will that go against some free market principle or something?

Basically this:

Consevatives: "WAAAAH, we don't want LIBERAL FANS and BLACK ATHLETES expressing their opinions on whether or not Limbaugh should own a team"

That's about an ignorant statement. Everybody knows the true liberal fans are *baseball* dorks, not football fans.

Well lets see, any wealthy person with the bucks can own an NFL team. May the wealthiest man please stand up.

And I nominate Ossama Bin Laden, all that family money and a sure hit with black Muslim players. Maybe American style football can finally supplant soccer in the minds of those that think football.

Ok, so which of these quotes are fabricated and which is real. If even ONE of these quotes is real, should limbaugh still have the ability represent the NFL as an owner?

1. I mean, let?s face it, we didn?t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I?m not saying we should bring it back; I?m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela ? who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.

5. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

7. They?re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They?re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there?s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn?t deserve.

Now I know Obama is a communist bent on subjugating us all

I don't like a damn thing about Rush but Bin Laden directly caused aircraft to fly into buildings and kill thousands. It's a ridiculous analogy.

Hell, Obama is Satan if it comes to it based on this crap.

What you are saying is that you haven't the brain capacity to separate provocative commentary from a person's true nature.

What you're saying is, either limbaugh is a liar or you're too stupid to think he's sincere

Even if he was faking it, why would that make it any better? He SAID it PUBLICLY.

Would a radical cleric who's never done anything to kill anyone, but publicly called for the death of America be a suitable NFL owner if he just had the cash?

There's just no way to take anything you write seriously

He uses provocative commentary often to make some different point, not necessarily the literal translation of the sentence that gets spread across the left-wing blog sites. He does it because that's what pays his bills. And if you don't like Limbaugh, well, he's not expecting you to like him. He does not make it his goal to be liked by "progressives".

But if you haven't figured that out yet, then there really is no hope for you.

His hate overwhelms his ability to reason. I don't pretend to know how RL really feels, but I know I don't like him either. On the other hand America allows people who we don't like to have the freedom to buy sports teams. Can another not like it? Sure. Can they speak out against it? And when they try to block that right? They become that which they say they oppose.

Be free, but only to be like me. Neocons all.

You're a moron, i tuned into ESPN and heard the very last quote, Limbaugh basically said Donovan McNabb is an affirmative action case and the media wanted to help black QB's out because they can't do it on their own merits. He's a race baiting prick, and if you haven't figured it out yet, then there really is no hope for you.

I'll say one thing, you are just as good as hyperbole as RL. You, the judge and jury.

How's things going Rush?

Obama is bigoted against gays and we allow him to be President.

I think pretty much everyone knew he was lying through his teeth about that. However, he had to, because to say otherwise would have been political suicide, and therefore bad for the country.

If Obama gets re-elected, look for him to promptly do a full 180 with his stance on this matter.

Sure it is. Rev. Al is calling Rush Limbaugh a bigot who doesn't deserve to be an owner.
For once I agree with Rev. Al.

Actions have consequences. If the NFL selects Rush as an owner, don't be suprised by a huge boycott of the NFL. The NFL doesn't like controversy, so I expect that they will reject Rush as an owner-too much baggage.

Ah, let Limbaugh live out his "slave owner" fantasy by paying black folks.

Hahaha, so many people here are sore that a racist loser like Fatbaugh will never own an NFL team.
