It do be like that in Maine. Though it's possible that Trump/Vought's actions become so objectionable that even King and CCM tell Thune to fuck off. Fetterman is just a lost cause at this point and should resign because he is not going to survive a primary.
King recently voted for at least one of the Republican CRs. Josh Hawley probably told him it was okay like he previously did with that rabidly anti-abortion federal judge.

Say what you will about the lackluster messaging coming from party leaders but the strategy of picking the fight over ACA subsidies is sound (and apparently politically successful so far). Given this a Democratic cave would not seem to be on the horizon so Trump will probably do increasingly unpopular things to try to get them to move. Failing that he'll force Senate Rs to go nuclear ensuring the worst outcome for voters.

Regardless of whether it's politically popular or not, Schumer/Jeffries walked into the trap and now the rest of P2025 gets speed run.

-Not the worst outcome. The sooner P2025 is implemented, the sooner the negative effects start percolating through society, the harder it becomes to blame it on "the next guy" or "the previous guy" or whatever.

Exactly.

We need it.

We need the fear.

We need them to overreact.

They've been choking us so slowly we're starting not to notice!

A sample of this morning's headline news....
  • Fox: Hail Satan!
  • CNN: Both sides...
  • Huffpo: !@#$ Trump!
It would appear most the media is in the bag for MAGA Nazis. If not directly becoming, then trying to be coy about it while playing right into their narratives.
The propaganda supporting American Nazism is thick, and that is why we are in this mess in the first place. We need to hold them accountable for their actions.

Impressively spineless. Ultimately the Senate Rs will do whatever Trump says and at this rate it's probably going to result in them having to blow up the filibuster.

People like Thune are why Congress is becoming subordinate to the president instead of being the most important branch of government given its placement as Article I.

Jellyfish have more backbone than congressional Republicans.

Nobody has made this happen more than the herculean effort that John Roberts has put in to help Trump simply ignore the law.

My favorite part is where they are like 'the president can ignore any law he doesn't like and basically do whatever he wants because Unitary Executive except for the Fed because reasons.'

Nobody seems to even notice or care that Roberts' justification for the whole thing is a policy based one, not a legal one, that the president has to be able to act forcefully without fear of prosecution. There's no law or constitutional stipulation that says this, it's just his preferred policy.

The Unitary Executive ends where Roberts' IRA begins, as laid down in the constitution and other legislation.

Per Roberts:
The unitary executive (R) is fine
The unitary executive (D) does not exist
I'm going to enjoy watching Alito at a minimum and anywhere from Thomas to all six conservative justices tie themselves up into pretzels describing why Biden forgiving student loans using an expressly granted power was a Major Question that had to be struck down while Trump tariffing the entire global economy due to a vaguely worded statute, based on a transparently fake emergency is just the president exercising the powers Congress gave him.

Famously the President Trump is a Very Special Boy Who We Want To Rule Us Like a King article of the Constitution. Only the best legal minds from the ivies are familiar with this little known clause.
