But are Dems blocking the vote or they just don’t even have 50 R votes to pass a CR

Republicans can't muster the votes to end cloture to them allow for the formal voting on their CR. Thus, the current need for 60 yes votes. Democrats are simply not voting to go along with Republicans bs CR bill for nothing in return.

And Republicans can nuke the cloture rules whenever they want. They hold more than 50 seats, and it only takes a simple majority.

The Senate could make cloture votes only require a simple majority to end debate. That would nuke the filibuster and then things would only ever need to pass with simple majorities.
Do they not do this because they are afraid what Dems would do if/when back in power?

Nah. It's probably two fold: they don't do it because they think they can use the current situation to jam Democrats and force them to join onto something odious, and because they probably don't have the majority they need to pass a bill.

Republicans have no problem changing the rules when it stands in the way of things they want to do.

Any reason the democrats doesn't demand that all revenues collected from Trumps Tariffs should be controlled by the senate?

Really kinda incredible that Rs are so totally devoted to inflicting pointless pain on the electorate that this is the line they draw on government spending.

Fetterman should be in someone's care, the brain damage is obviously too severe for him to act on his own behalf.

Probably the only reason he hasn't resigned from a job he clearly hates is that Shapiro would appoint his replacement. They do not like each other. Anyway at this rate zero chance he survives a primary if he runs again, he's going to get savaged.

What bill are you referring to they wouldnt have the majority to pass? I assume you were referring to them getting rid of the filibuster with a majority vote?

Also if republicans have no problems changing the rules, why are they not doing what everyone here seems to imply?

Just trying to learn and be in the know on these things.

Angus King should also be in someone's care. Old bat doesn't have the chops to play in the big leagues any more.

Republicans don't have a majority of their caucus onboard to pass anything in the Senate regarding an appropriation to keep the government open. If they did, they wouldn't have to shut down the government and be trying to pressure Democrats on passing a bill.

They want Democratic party help because they need political cover or votes that won't come from their own caucus.

Each house of Congress decides how it will operate and votes on their own rules. Rule changes require simple majorities. The filibuster is merely a rule that has been changed many times over the years, usually when the majority started to find it annoying.
