The mainstream media still somehow blames the outbreak on a decline in vaccinations.

There will always be people that get vaccinated but it does not work as well in them to offer full protection. The problem is when enough people do not get vaccinated it makes those people even more at risk.

But yes less people getting vaccinated and the rate of disease going up has no correlation at all. :whiste:

So more than 2 did not have the vaccination.

No case was identified in a person who had documented measles vaccination at the time of exposure; 12 (21%) of the cases were in infants too young (aged <12 months) for routine immunization with measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

There's a good reason not to trust the article from the daily sheeple. It is true that 2 of the infected were children whose parents had opted out of the vaccination, but it is definitely NOT true that the other 18 WERE vaccinated.

According to this article there were 20 cases (I saw a bit later one that said 21 here) in all in the outbreak.

Of these 11 were adults and only 3 of them could prove vaccination. Of the 9 children 7 were too young to be vaccinated (or still within the age window for the vaccination.) The remaining 2 children's parents had opted out of the vaccinations.

Vaccines have contributed more to public than probably any other advancement besides sewage, clean water and handsoap.

But there is no reason to put blind faith into vaccines either.

Vaccines are not 100% effective and should not be treated as such.

Yeah this thread didn't go the way he expected it to. It will be interesting to see he is response.

Probably something along the lines that the health department reports are fake and the government is suppressing the truth.

They probably are. The government does not want people asking questions.

Here, take this shot, and don't ask how effective it is supposed to be.

The drug companies will be pissed if their profits drop. Could we imagine the horror if a company is held responsible for a faulty product.
 
Isn't it amazing that the people who believe the most insane and most easily disproven things somehow are always the ones that think the rest of us are blind sheep?

So uhh... 60 people get measles and people are willing to set their hair on fire and run around screaming that we need to make vaccines mandatory? Aren't there bigger problems to worry about. The anti-vac movement is something that will get defeated with information, no need for legislation.

I don't know that anyone is calling for legislation, at least not at a level that would be taken seriously.

Yes. I guarantee you that a lot fewer believe in a creationism based understanding of our world than 100 years ago. Even if you look at just religious people a lot less believe that as well. I'd say it's simply a vocal minority.

Part of the process of spreading the information is publicly ridiculing the idiots that don't understand the difference between information and misinformation yet loudly proclaim that the misinformation is actually the truth.
