I just built a new system (specs below) but sadly, when I opened the 5700XT Nitro+ up, the center fan fell out 🙁 The hole for the retaining screw was all messed up, and no screw to be found. So sent back to NewEgg, just gotta wait for a replacement.

Wow, really? What kind of QC crap is that?

Sounds like the ASUS Strix QC issue with the cooler not being supported properly by the screws.

Well, in this case the Sapphire Nitro+ cards have fans that are easily removable (one screw) so that you can clean/replace them. One of these screws was missing. So not a design flaw like the Asus issue, just somebody fell asleep at their QC station that day.

Hmm, seems like more powerful Navi cards may be announced in the coming months; of course not confirmed by AMD insiders.

Here's hoping for a larger 4K performance gap than the current cards offer.

Got my replacement 5700 XT Nitro+, this one doesn't have any issues and thus far, very happy with it. Much faster than my old RX 480 Nitro+, LOT quieter, and so far runs pretty cool. Although I have not played anything yet that keeps it pegged at 100%.

Good to hear, I should have my Dell S2721DGF today for 1440 goodness.

I finally got a new S2721DGF after trying 2 open box fiasco's from Best Buy. This thing is amazing. I am kicking myself for waiting this long to go 1440p. Now the wife is going to want one for her gaming PC 😱

I looked that up, it is a pretty nice 165Hz IPS QHD panel, with Freesync. Price isn't bad. I agree that high refresh QHD is great. I have had this Asus for a few years, and it is great. My next monitor I want to be IPS and 240Hz.

Dell has the S2721DGF on sale right now for $379.99, so I went to Best Buy and price matched, then used points to knock that down.

I went from an Alienware AW2518HF, started getting 200+ FPS in games with the 5900X upgrade.

I did not look at 1440p 240 panels as we can't even get a new video card right now. I think 2021 is lost, looking forward to 2022 and RDNA3. Just glad I did not fook around and sell the 5700 XT and 1080ti and try to join the madness of getting a new and shiny this round.

I use my Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT 99% of the time to play Dirt Rally 2 at 3440x1440 - i probably game 5-7 hours a week on it.

I always run at vsync, so I'm sure I have a little head room.

The card is fine, but the fans can get a little buzzy... and have since I bought it. It sounds like maybe the fans, at certain rpm's, hit the shroud slightly?
